David Banner has been tapped to star in director Lee Daniels’ upcomign film The Butler.

The film, which is currently in production in New Orleans, Louisiana,  also stars Forrest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams, Terrance Howard, Vanessa Redgrave, Jane Fonda and more. It tells the real-life story of Eugene Allen (Whitaker) a butler who served at the White House from 1952 to 1986 under eight First Families.

Banner, who will appear in the upcoming films 7500 and They Die By Dawn, will play the role of Allan’s father Earl Gains opposite Mariah Carey, who will star as his wife.
