Eminem Shows Support For Slaughterhouse On BET's "106 & Park"

Eminem calls in to support his latest signees.

While on BET's 106 & Park, Slaughterhouse received some public support in the form of a phone call from their label head, Eminem.

After being introduced, Em was asked about the level of involvement he had in the album. "Absolutely involved as I could be," explained the Detroit emcee. "I just wanted to...I feel like, these guys, the caliber that they rhyme at...it was one of those things that was fun for me to do. This is the kind of music I love doing."

"I love this kind of Hip Hop," continued Eminem, explaining why Slaughterhouse's style meshed well with his. "It's lyrically dense. These guys are animals. Getting in the studio with them was fun, and I really wanted to be hands on from the beginning of the project to the end of it. In other words, overseeing everything, producing, co-producing, whatever I could do. Mixing, everything. ...I wanted to present the best product possible to the public."

Shady also addressed the oft-discussed topic of whether Slaughterhouse is underrated. "I think they've been underrated for a while, but I think with this album coming out, it being what it is, they're gonna get what they deserve right now."

"Question, where was the promo?!" The funny thing is what's a million dollars to Interscope? They could have spent that on some nice promotion and almost guaranted Slaughterhouse a bigger first week.

  • Anonymous

In today's climate, most rap albums flop. It's a wonder rappers even get excited about the music making process anymore. Regardless of whether you liked or hated Slaughter's album, obviously they worked fairly hard to get it out.

  • ..............

    Question, where was the promo?!

  • E

how many songs have these guys released that you all loved...and u are all shitting on them for what show some support...internet douchebags

  • E

f uck all you....these guys put out so much good music...the mixtape is great and of course they want to make some money so do i...all you assholes that supported them for the last 2 years and shit on them now.....fuck you....anyone who agrees please comment...and yea i like the cd and the mixtape even if some songs are pop or not...first and last ever post.....these dudes tried to please everyone and make money....fuck yall

  • kkk

slaughterhouse album sounds like dog shit like recovery. they were better before em signed them, now they sound trash like eminem's pop album recovery.

  • Maxreviews

THis slaughterhouse album is dope...it reminds me of D-12 but its betta. Eminem is going to go down as a top 5 rapper ever when all is said and done

  • Anonymous

    GFID is an excellent album.

  • Toldja

Slaughterhouse is projected to sale 40 to 50k. This is horrible. Yelawolf sold as much as this shitfest and was a better album too. At least when he went radio friendly he had good hooks and a good beat but Em was too busy fucking up Slaughterhouse to give the damn project any promo. SH needs to do like Yela and go back to their mixtape shit...well nevermind because with their mixtapes all they did was rap over other people's beats and song concepts. They need to get a good producer that can help them find their sound and pick a beat worth listening too.

Lloyd Banks and Obie Trice >>>>>>> SlaughterHouse

real hiphop! fuck all you fags, 2nd best album of the year..1st being life is good ofcourse

  • Anonymous

Em still shitttin on muther fucka's and he dont gotta do a damnnn thing. quit the hatinn

  • Dickriding EM

We all should've seen this shit from their first album. The slow transition into ShitsDom started there. It was like the album was a pilot for them getting down with Shady. Think about it. You get the "One" which sounds like some EM shit. Then you get Royce bigging up EM like on like 3 songs and etc. Shortly after then signed with Shady. Then every interview is SH's dick riding how great Shady is and how much they've learned on the album and etc. Royce comes out with Success is Certain which has a couple of good tracks but sounds more...yep you guessed it Shady. Royce started to become super goofy at this point(nvm that started on Bar exam 3). Then Crooked I releases his album which has Em sounding music...you know..some white girl singing the hook, some guitar riffs...that sorta shit. Anyways we get "Hammer Dance" which sounded good...but like something Em would have on his album. Think we get "Throw it away", "Asylum", and well at this point Slaughterhouse isn't Slaughterhouse but Shadyhouse. So unless these boys can grow some balls and tell Em to stay out of their album I can foresee a repeat of this crappiness on their solo futures, mixtapes, and their sophmore album(if they get the chance).

  • Fuck Shady

I killed niggas and is good. These Slaughterhouse fags don't know the shit they talking about.

    • Anonymous

You're a man, not a fucking machine. Quit acting like you're tough, cause if someone ever put a gun to your mother's head, you're gonna cry like a bitch and beg for her life. You shot niggas, but you probably didn't see their faces after, you probably didn't go see their families at their funerals. You just a bitch that hides behind her gun.

  • Anonymous

these niggas need some dope beats and need to leave that white suburbia sounding shit alone. if that shit was where its at then that'd be the shit pushin units AND ITS NOT! Dont rhyme about dumb childish shit do the same shit yall do on your solo efforts. mix in the producers you work with on your solo joints. they already got the lyrics. is it that hard?

Slaughterhouse will be flopping like Officer Ricky's tittie very soooonnnn. Lol

I don't understand why all of a sudden people started talking about Immortal Technique. Dude is great but not the GREATEST, because he doesn't move units. If you wanna be the GOAT, you gotta sell the most copies.

    • Cletus

      @ 1st Anonymous That's cracker logic.

    • Anonymous

Immortal Techniques a millionaire from selling his music independently. Tech N9ne and ICP are as well...Hopsin is getting close to that mark. Basically what Im trying to say is....Fuck your soundscan stats.

  • Anonymous

"i just dont think slaughterhouse works as an 'artist'. something is missin in their music" Good point. They all sound the same. Maybe in their mind they were spittin fire, but there wasn't one song that they all owned.

    • Anonymous

True. Niggas think all they have to do is say some difficult words, but that doesn't make a song. And just because you can make multisillabic rhymes doesn't mean you have skills.

  • Fuck Detroit

Niggas will never understand. A sellout can't be the GOAT. That's why Immortal Technique is the greatest of all time.

  • lumburr

Yeah, the first time I listened to the album I was caught off guard. Some bad hooks, some repetitive beats, and not enough hard verses like I've come to expect from Slaughterhouse. But after listening a few more times, and especially after drinking with the album, I love it. It plays like a Slaughterhouse greatest hits album - the tracks may not mesh together well, but most of the songs stand on their own as an energetic, production-heavy rap song. I think people are being way too harsh on these guys, give the album one more listen. On random.

  • Funny guy.

IFLOP good one. You hit the nail on the head. I wish apple would hand those out to every wack rapper not just Slaughterhouse.

  • Slruim

Ha! Crooked said we could expect "pure Hip-Hop" Ha!

  • IFLOP

Did you hear? Apple is making a new product for Slaughterhouse called "IFLOP" that'll spit out the reasons why they indeed..."flopped". Instead of an alarm clock beeping noise the IFLOP will play corny circus music to remind them to pick better beats. When they use the navigation feature it will have Em's annoying accent voice giving them the wrong directions to places so that way they'll learn not to listen to Em for shit. And most importantly when they go to buy something the "IFLOP" will chime, "SOLD OUT"... ooooh and I hear apple is giving this to these guys for free after listening to the album.

  • Anonymous

The album is mediocre at best. The beats are pretty much shit. Sure they spit fire, but its pretty repetitve. And the fuck are these guys doing on one track talking about their kids and shit then another saying "we're in a frat house." I really wanted this to be good, but fuck man, Em has fallen way the fuck off.

    • rite

I agree, the album is mediocre, 2 or 3 songs that I like. but i dont think em fell off, he still spits crazy raps and over some great beats. i just dont think slaughterhouse works as an 'artist'. something is missin in their music..

  • Anonymous

Slaughterhouse needs to step away from Em if they make another album. Let him jump on a track, but don't rely on him for everything cause it maked it seem like they don't know what they're doing without the Slim Shady's hand guiding them.

  • Anonymous

the best album this year for shure

  • Anonymous

Joell probably didn't want to be on there lol

  • Anonymous

Those kids probably don't even know who Slaughterhouse is

  • Anonymous

"We heard you were shooting a Movie" "Yeah well, I gotta go watch tv" ? lol

  • Anonymous

Eminem should not be on the album- period. Not because he's not good or anything but because it cheapens the SH brand. It makes it look like they aren't really a group but just side kicks being told what to do and sing.

  • Pleeze

Shut up about complex rhymes, they're not complex! Double timing and flipping words for effect. Where's the stories? Where's the bounce? Where's the beats? Crooked I isn't even about nonsense rhymes. He's a street poet. Joe Budden is best as an introspective writer. Ortiz- kinda' amateurish Royce- Turned himself into an Eminem clone with all the shock lyrics that aren't shocking anymore. Eminem- You are not Dr.Dre. Be smarter and hire real producers. This is just exhibition rap. Nothing wrong with that but elite material- fuck no. A complete album with top tier production is "God Forgives I Don't".

    • milehighkid303

@anonymous whom i THOUGHT was Pleeze......No Ross hate bruh, lol its' fact. I don't care for him, glad he had a job too, n it's not about a "badge of honor" lol, but to STEAL someone's NAME and LIFESTYLE and SPIN it as you REALLY lived it, well, homie.....ITS STUPID AS FUCK regardless of his "production" on albums. WTF is with you cats on this site throwing that word around like "classic", bruh, like I said, I LOVED all the points you made until you used HIS NEWEST album as an example.....lol, DONT be ashamed if you like him...its ok. I just said HE IS NOT HIP HOP, period. He's a gimmick like 99% of these guys out. TALIB KWELI is Hip Hop. Much Love homie.

    • Anonymous

milehighkid303- Miss me with that Ross hate. He's a great artist period. I don't fucking care about all the butt hurt motherfuckers stuck on that CO shit. I'm glad the dude had a legit job. Suburbanites thinking hood life is a badge of honor need to sit the fuck down with that bullshit.

    • Anonymous

ashamed is only good beat the rest fucking sucks

    • milehighkid303

BRUH, you just hit it on the head with EVERYTHING you just said and THEN you throw Ross album in there WHY??? If you STRICTLY talkin about the production he is GIVEN then ok.....other then that, you can't MENTION that slob when it comes to TRUE legitamate Hip Hop. I mean stories?? Ross' fabricated delusional fantasy lies maybe lol but not stories.....

    • Anonymous

ALL of GFID has perfect beats. You need to listen to that album again bruh. And the writing is great too. All the features are on point. I can't believe any real hip-hop head would sleep on that album.

    • ^^^^

The more chill & laid back beats on GFID were the best beats on the album. Everything else was either OK or it just flat out sucked, IMO.

  • Smh

Album sucks. I find it hard to believe Shady would actually cosign this bullshit.

  • Young Cracka

hell yeah eminem, love me some eminem

  • Anonymous

the really funny thing is it's almost like Em is clowning them himself, although he comes out of this fiasco looking awful also. D-12 is like peak Wu Tang compared to this dogshit.

  • Anonymous

LAUGHTERHOUSE were a horrible idea to start... They sucked on Koch and they're clowned themselves in every way possible with Shady; fucking whores with no soul, no songs and-- ooops-- barely any fucking sales. HAMMER DANCE!!!!

  • Anonymous

FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP FLOP EM GONNA NEED SOME POWERFUL DRUGS TO FORGET THIS ONE HEY JOELL, SO WHO THE FUCK OFFERED YOU 'SCHOLARSHIPS' ANYWAY? GIVE US ONE NAME FATSO, IT AIN'T SNITCHING!!

  • IFLOP

Did you hear? Apple is making a new product for Slaughterhouse called "IFLOP" that'll spit out the reasons why they indeed..."flopped". • Its Um

I like the album, haven't loved it yet since only listen to it once yesturday before my shows came on. I think a lot people can't get use to complex hardcore rhymes that isn't singy songy like Drake and Wayne which I call karaoke raps that a lot of people could follow along to. I do like drake and wayne songs but i don't think I'll ever buy their albums i settle for free copies, but anyway hate till ya blue in the lips but I their going to get the chance to do a second take under Shady records.

  • milehighkid303

I'm gunna be as real as I can here. Look, this group would have been a GREAT idea late circa 90's early 00's. BUT the game has changed SO much this LITTLE kids dictate EVERYTHING. I say that to say this, Crook WAAAAAAAAAY past his prime, dude been in it longer than ANY of them fools, Joey NEVER really blew, dude's pen game is nice but like a spin off of Game on that emotional type tip. Secondly, Royce WAS a beast back in the day, now its like homie jumps in the booth wit a thesauraus and just spits, like what direction are you really goin bruh?? As for Joell...he the one I seen the most potential in and am dissappointed the majors didn't handle him right, he'll be one of those dudes in Hip Hop that's just "there", dont get me wrong yall these boys got PEN WORK, but the game just aint the same no more and these dudes are getting old, I mean shit, I'm almost 30 we grew up on Crook and Royce. As for Em, MAAAAAAAN this guy ain't even CLOSE to himself anymore, it's proven when an ENTIRE community can push and influence this guy to think that Relapse was garbage, when in REALITY that shit was probably one of his better crafted albums in the sense of penminship and beat selection and just outright wordplay, that same influence gave us that bullshit in Recovery. Basically what I'm sayin here is this....us "old" heads need to really come to grips with the fact these dudes dont have the same hunger and are in a different space now musically. Shit doesn't go HARD no more and we need to accept it, it's all corporate pushed bull shit that these kids and white suburba have created. PEACE.

    • milehighkid303

@Trent exactly. That's what I'm saying bout that "influence" SAME anology I use with 50, it was cool/still is to hate him and The Unit....

    • Anonymous

hjk You mentioned all those accolades and you still couldn't say they rapped better. Joe Budden - Def Jam shitted on him after Jay z took office there. Crooked I - Signed to Suge on the tail end and his Source mag co sign was ill timed. Joell Ortiz - Signed Aftermath aka put me on the shelf records, if Busta or Rakim didn't pop off what did you expect? Royce - Well him and Em fell out but we got "Boom" of it. Wrong place wrong time situations, which obviously is still the case, but they boys got flows and lyrics, so the paper will come. Look at how long it took Jay z. They just need to say fuck a co sign and do it themselves which explains why there aren't too many afiliations to these guys except Em and Horseshoe gang.

    • milehighkid303

@first dude not sure why you brining up Immortal Technique, ps dude is NOT better then Em, lol, two totally different approaches to the mic. @first Anon, why ou bring up Rick n 2Chainz (unless youre using them as my "lil kid" refrence for MC's) and thats exactly what I'm saying the cats that are forcefed to us on radio and Itunes and ALL these other aves, are NOT "lyrically" better then those I mentioned, BUT the problem is LIKE YOU SAID the INDUSTRY, you are probably right, age can be danced around in the sense of relevance, BUT for whatever reason, the dudes we grew up with, just dont seem to have it anymore, its not that I'm jumping ship just calling it how I see it. @HJK like the first Anon I dont see why yall giving me the stats on guys like Wayne, Ross and 2Chainz UNLESS you tryna make my point for me lol. Much love.

    • Trent

I co-sign completely with that bit about Relapse.. Lyrically and flow wise that album was some of rap's finest. It was just cool to hate on I guess

    • hjk

Lil Wayne - plenty of major albums out and collaboration as well... most of them successful when it comes to numbers Rick Ross - 5 major solo albums out, 3 of them gold 2 Chainz - yes, he got his solo debut just this year, but he's been on major as a part of Playaz Circle and DTP family can't compare these guys to Slaughterhouse boys, none of them had major album release (ecxept Joe Budden) as a SOLO artist, Crooked I is rapping 45862 years and still have NO ANY SOLO album out and when you are 33 and you are rapping as long as Crooked I do and you have no solo album, you ARE too old

    • Anonymous

Joe budden 32, Joell Ortiz 30, Royce 35, Crooked I 33 Lil wayne 30, rick ross 36, 2chainz 36 It's not age, it's industry politics because you can't say with a straight face that the cats the radio forcefeed us can rap better or are younger except Drake (the younger part).

    • Reasons Why Immortal Technique Is Better Than Eminem

He doesn't use shock value He doesn't make music for rich white people He relies solely on skill He is independent He is black, plus, from South America.

  • backpackers are butt hurt!

Lol look at idiots talking about record sales like it was still the early 2000's. Btw the album and the mixtapes are great. It's just that you no fun virgin backpackers still want Slaughterhouse to stay underground. The beat doesn't matter the lyrics are still there you just aren't listening.

    • Anonymous

the mixtapes suck and the album is worse... Joell's future is cleaning bathrooms if he's lucky... too fucking fat for UPS!!!

  • ffb

People still bringing up sales only on SH articles when everyone nowadays cries about how sales dont matter lmaooo. Your beloved NaS hasnt even pushed past 300k with life is good and YMCMB fags sell 400+ ...so I guess Nas is a flop AND that sales justify skills from what your bitching at right??? fucking clowns.

  • yebo

why my first or second comment just disappeared ?

  • acidrap

Weak ass album.Nobody has an ear for beats anymore, they just hop on whatever.Yeah the lyrics may be tight but who gives a fuck if the beat is garbage? These producers shouldnt have careers, they gotta be blowin someone in the industry.Even the songs with Slim are awful.

    • Trent

It's this weird phenom called "No I.D."... He's on the slaughter album too.. just sayin

    • hjk

Ross has an ear for beats, just go and listen GFID, at least half of the album are some of the best beats given to someone this year. Or Nas album.

  • gun di liro

I think deep down Em knows these guys are not going to sell well. He shouldn't have to appear on 3 songs on the album. There should be no need for Em to be calling into tv shows and radio to get people to go out and buy the album. Interscope has Em under a lot of pressure right now I believe.

    • Anonymous

whatever his mediocre skills on the board etc, that he thought these bums were "interesting" in ANY GODDAMN WAY is a huge failing on Eminem's part... hilarious all the hype and lies lies lies are having no effect except INCREASING public scorn for the whole fraud.

    • Anonymous

because Eminem is a horrible fucking producer?

    • ETK

Eminem damn near produced the whole fucking thing, why would he not hype the album... If interscope were putting Em under pressure it would not be through SH.

  • Crooked I straight lied

This aint straight hip hop...hip pop and bad at that. I aint heard no killa beats, no good hooks, no songs with meaning. Album is Wood on Arrival.

i said no its mean no

  • OUCH!

After listening to it about 10 times straight. i think its an awesome album. some songs are eh! but the majority is well done

  • Anonymous

This shit came out yesterday? lmao Damnnn homie, this shit going to flop. Their first album did like 18K or something first week..This shit will sell under 10,000 ON A MAJOR LABEL. Remember Diggy sold 21,000 with all those singles, twitter followers and 106 buzz and shit? Slaughterhouse has about a quarter of that...They'll sell even less and then get dropped. Never sign with Eminem, unless he's hot enough to ride the wave, like 50 did.

  • trooth

i listened to the album and didn't find one song to download. beats are horrible.... its a shame that with how much skill they have they cant make a decent record. If they'd get in the booth and make 15 Truth or Truth type records I'd go out and buy the shit.

    • Anonymous

the beats are horrible yes but these bums couldn't write a hot SONG if they're dicks were on fire or-- in Joell's case-- if White Castle threatened to never feed him again.

    • datnigga

@ Anon I thought this album was pretty bad, and yet I'm still a fan (especially the mixtape). Some of my favorite albums this year are Control System, Live from the Underground, Life is Good, and 'Labyrinth' from Locksmith. But I won't be buying this album or listening to it in the future. You're the type to think that if someone doesn't like or listen to Slaughterhouse, then they don't know real hip-hop. Don't make that assumption. Since we're making assumptions, I'm going to assume you became a SH fan after the Shady deal. If not, you sure act like it.

    • Anonymous

if you thought this album was bad..i can only imagine your thoughts on other albums

  • Real

The album sucked, mostly because of the beats. They were over complicated. It made every song sound messy. Music just ain't the same anymore. Back in the day, people took time to make a song. Now a days, an artist makes a bunch of songs in a day. I'm losing respect for rap. It's all talking nonsense over a catchy beat. It should be quality over quantity, not the other way around.

  • oldschool4life

Major let down... There first album was ten times better.. Sellouthouse

  • Anonymous

How involved was Em? Too involved. Everything he did on this album aside from Our House is trash, the beats are horrible 90% of the time and the hooks are insanely corny. Em should have said "fuck you" to Interscope, gone out and found 10 or so grimey ass beats from Alchemist, Mr. Porter. Aarab, Just Blaze etc. and tolds SH to just rhyme their asses off with 9 minute tracks and shit. Now that could have been a classic album.

  • Anonymous

fuck this poprapper. go do a song with rihanna or lady gaga.

  • Up North

meant to begin with "I" not a "U"

  • Up North

U thought the album was solid but it definitely reached for the commercial audience. The first album was way better and the "On The House" mixtape is the best work they've put out as a unit. I'd like to hear AraabMuzik produce an entire project for the Slaughter. His beats with Slaughter's rapid delivery would marry up well I think.
