T.I. has pushed back his new album Trouble Man several times, but fans might have to wait a bit longer for it to hit stores. During an interview with Rap-Up.com, Tip said that the LP is currently without a release date, and when asked if the project will drop this year, he said that he’ll do his best to put it out in 2012.

“I don’t have a specific release date as of yet simply because I’m taking the necessary time to perfect what we already have. I think that there’s an opportunity to deliver a masterpiece and I don’t want to confine that and restrict that process with a deadline. Right now we’re challenging the 86 [records] that we already have and trying to perfect this body of work, and making sure we give the people the best possible project we can give them,” he said, stating that he’s aiming for a 2012 release. “I’m doing the best that I can to try and make that happen. I don’t wanna restrict the process and confine myself to a deadline and compromise my benefit to deliver the best possible project that I can. But I think it’s a possibility. 60/40. 60-70% that it will come out this year.”

T.I. also spoke on collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, Andre 3000 and Cee Lo Green for the project. He said that he’ll have two title tracks on the LP, and that R. Kelly will be featured on one of them.

“There are two title tracks to this project and R. Kelly is on one of them,” he said. “This record [“Trouble Man”] is basically asking a woman if she can learn to love a trouble man. I’m describing my life and the excitement that comes with it and the challenges that come with it as well, and asking a woman if she can deal with that, if she can take the bad with the good. It’s speaking to women in a way they ain’t been spoken to in a while.”
