T.I. Pushes Back "Trouble Man" Release Date

T.I. says that "Trouble Man" won't likely make its anticipated September 4 release date.

Ever since he announced his eighth solo project Trouble Man, fans have been patiently waiting for T.I. to deliver his long-awaited album. Now, in a recent interview with MTV, Tip explained that listeners are going to have to wait a little while longer for its release.

The Grand Hustle impresario revealed that Trouble Man would not be completed by its expected release date of September 4. He elaborated, saying he's still pairing down the whopping 86 possible songs for the final cut. Despite this, T.I. is still eyeing a 2012 release for his latest effort.

“Me being the perfectionist that I am, I’m still tweaking and fine-tuning, trying to perfect all parts of this project," he said. "I did, like, 124 songs, and I’ve narrowed it down to 86 now, so now I have to continue to narrow down and continue to make it better...I'm not trying to paint myself into a corner with a date. I’m trying to make sure that the project is the absolute best it could be, and I’m trying to get it down by the end of the year."

  • J-mart

124 songs damn lol can we get another mix tap while we wait lol

No buzz, delaye it simple as that. Still a t.i. fan and will be getting his album. One platinum song and t.i. will be back.

  • Jdub

Dudes been thru a lot. But its TI, he's good. Not sure hard or trap is the answer... Seems like he needs "whatever u like" type to get radio spins....

"I did, like, 124 songs" Ironically, only 1 will be worth listening too.

  • Release Dates

Why do rappers ever put a release date on something? Why not just say "Fall 2012". Personally, I think it alienates fans when you push your release date back, it makes you look like A) you don't have good enough stuff or B) there isn't enough buzz or C) you are making shit up. I think at one point in time and in certain cases it was a good marketing technique but these days its every release and its pretty clear this pisses people off..

LOL @ making 124 songs for your album why not make 20 good ones

  • ATL Shawty

He cant get decent beats because he shitted on his best producer DJ Toomp a long time ago. His patna Young Dro album aint never coming out, and he is way better than T.I. Nobody want to hear this wack nigga no more, should have stopped at Trap Muzik Clifford.

as a fan I prefer T.I. to stay recording stuff save up some quality material and then really put a mark in the game with multiple releases. 2 albums in 1 year maybe, Jeezy/T.I. Album. Killer Mike next LP. Feels like T.I. has been gone for a while.

  • ....

Just needs to get a producer who's good at making hit singles to get the project off the ground... Just Blaze, Timbaland, Kanye West, Boi-1da, Alex da Kid etc.

  • Anonymous

124 songs, and narrowed it down to 86 and can't put 12 songs out next month.. exactly.

"this push back less about picking the best songs, and more about not having the proper buzz or hype surrounding the album" ^ how do any of you know this? Who here is in the studio with him and knows who produced what songs? Who here works for his label? Y'all say this about everyone who changes their release date.

  • imTravi

Yea as a few of the others stated, this push back less about picking the best songs, and more about not having the proper buzz or hype surrounding the album, T.I. or the singles he's put out so far...as far as the "he needs to make street music again" comment...he can't cause he's not at that point in his life anymore. What he can do though is tell stories like he did on "I'm Serious" & "Trap Muzik"

  • S.dot

Stop the bullshit. It's not being released b/c he's smart enough to know that no one is really checking for it. Keep it real, bruh. I'm a T.I. fan but he knows/we know why it's being pushed back.

  • Shone Jones

It's starting to feel like the whole T.I.-mania from 2006 never happened. He's been the definition of cold for the last couple of years or so. If anything, he's slowly getting phased out of the picture. When was the last time you heard at T.I. single on the radio?

    • @CJonno90

*sold 159,000 in the first week*

    • @CJonno90

You mean the "Billboard Hot 100" with "2 Reasons" at 64... with Paper Trail he had 4 singles that got in the Top 5, and "Love This Life" peaked at 81 with "Go Get It" peaking at 77. Looks like he really needs to get himself a hit single No Mercy never had a real hit and that sold 159,000, I know in today's climate that's not bad for a normal rapper but Tip can do better...

    • Anonymous

are u forgetting about the T.I. mania from 2008?

    • tipster

Yesterday...Go get it..and Hes on the top 10 billboard with Trey Songz..He still is hott..But just cause he hasnt found the right single to go #1 yet dont mean hes not T.I.. He still is a top-selling artist regardless

I knew my nigga wasnt tryna go toe to toe with the G.O.O.D. Music monster on the 4th lol. I think T.I. has another classic in em (Yes, T.I. has a classic and it's called "Trap Muzik") but son just needs to take his time with it. He's 8 albums in so he's on vet status. Right now he needs to take a page outta Nas' book and make music for his hardcore fans and ignore the hits on the charts. Make some raw, personal, good quality cohesive shit and just stay in your lane. Do that and you might just ascend to legendary status my nig. Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, or Pac of the south type shit. Try and keep up with the Jones' and go out like DMX, Cam'ron, Busta, and so many other has been rappers before you. The choice is yours.

props to t.i. he has beaten the odds throughout his career, after his debut album bombed he came back and has been successful ever since, however its clear to see this isn't a song picking problem its a no buzz problem. this guy has released at least 3 songs to iTunes in the past 8 months and none of them have caught on. i think when he does finally release it he's looking at r.e.d. numbers if you know what i mean. not hating just stating facts...this is what happens everyones career eventually winds down, plus the two stints in prison didn't help. lets see how he responds to this.

  • Green

I like T.I. but he got no buzz. He don't have huge single like he had on previous albums. People don't check for him no more. He needs to drop that street shit again.

  • 50

124 songs, and narrowed it down to 86 and can't put 12 songs out next month.. lol its over! Street By 50 all day!

  • lol
