Young Buck Asks Not To Be Judged By Past Before Serving Prison Sentence

Former G-Unit member Young Buck talks about his prison sentence, says he is moving forward and "letting the past be the past."

As he prepares to serve 18 months in prison, Young Buck is hoping to not be judged for his past actions. The former G-Unit rapper recently spoke with XXL about his wishes, his aspirations and his sentence.

“There were all the crazy things that happened to me in the last few years leading up to this situation I’m in today,” Young Buck shared with XXL. “My mindset moving forward is letting the past be the past. Don’t judge me behind what you think I am or what you thought I did or none of that. Pay attention to Buck because the man that I was yesterday ain’t the man that I am today. I know whatever is at the end of the rainbow…it’s gotta be a pot of gold."

Young Buck also shared that he feels he could do well with Maybach Music Group or Cash Money after he is released from prison.

“MMG has a real push for what they got going,” he said of labels he may land on after his release. “I came up with Cash Money, so just to see what they’re doing…But the height of Buck is coming out this penitentiary."

what he was before was a rapper who used to have a mansion, now he don't, used to have g-unit, eminem, and dre, working with him for his albums, now he don't, he used to be some one I rooted for from the g-unit but now I don't. He fell off, trying to be like the others and he couldn't do it, it wasn't him.

"Segue into another career" His resume is so impressive all the top drug lords in the world are considering offering him a FT position once he gets out.

God bless Mr. Buck, but.. some people just need to leave rap alone and find something else to do. Segue into another career. I'm not sure what else he may be skilled to do. I hope he is able to take this "time away" and reassess some things in his life. All the street-thug-world carrying on is not a good look, not by a long shot. He needs to stay away from dudes who are still involved in that lifestyle, even "a little bit".. it can have disastrous consequences for you if you're not paying attention. Too many people have just come to accept prison, being arrested, violent confrontation, or being on probation/parole as just another part of life-- this has become normalized in many minority communities, beyond rappers-- and this shows how sickening the trend has become, when people are socialized to believe that their lives can't be better than this.
