Yelawolf Addresses Shady 2.0 Album Rumors, "Love Story"

Yelawolf discusses whether the possibility of a Shady 2.0 LP and his sophomore effort "Love Story."

With G.O.O.D. Music, YMCMB and Maybach Music Group all giving listeners group albums, fans of Shady 2.0 are pining for project with Eminem and company. Now, in a recent interview with Montreality, Yelawolf addresses the rumors of a possible Shady compilation.

Yela dispelled talk of a Shady 2.0 compilation happening anytime soon; between their individual tours and new albums, the Shady team doesn't have time for a group project. Still, Catfish Billy said that he would definitely be down if everyone's schedules cleared up.

"Obviously I’m down for it, but there’s no talks of any collaboration of a crew album or whatever. It probably would be a good idea to do it, but I know everybody’s on the road working. Slaughterhouse is on the road, I’m on the road and everybody’s super busy. Obviously, I’m down for the squad to do some shit."

Yela also discussed his sophomore studio album with Shady Love Story, which has been potentially slated for a 2013 release. He said that he wants to spend a number of months recording Love Story as to not rush the quality of the product, an issue he feels took away from his debut Radioactive.

"I set up to do Love Story, and because of when I got hurt, I lost a lot of shows and I had to make them up, and it had cut into the time I had put out to make Love Story," he explained. "I really want to put in on this album a few months, really put in work on this album…I did Radioactive in two week and I think that if i really put in on an album a couple months worth of work, it's gonna be some of my best work ever and I'm really hungry to do it."

Should sign Fashawn, Jon Connor, Danny Brown, Joey Bada$$, Royce da 5'9" (solo), ScHoolboy Q (like K.Dot for Aftermath), Blu, Jadakiss etc.

  • Its Um

If he would have put out a cleaner verison of throw it up, it would have did a little better bcuz the other 2 singles wasn't that great, and this would have gotten a lot more spins plus a video to go with it.

Are you high? Sense signing to shady he's put out an album that certainly wasn't bad by any means, then the ep with ed sheeran which was dope for only four songs followed by the heart of dixie mixtape and he's still gotta release the mixtape with travis barker

We Are Young Money: CLASSIC! Self Made Vol. 1 & 2: Great! G.O.O.D Music collab. album? : FLOP! Shady 2.0 collab. album?? : DOUBLE FLOP!

    • Mark

If you think We are Young Money was a Classic, your taste in music is sad. Self Made vol 1 and 2 were head and shoulders better than the YM album. Your also a hater because the G.O.O.D and Shady albums haven't even dropped yet. STFU and let the smart people talk

yeah like Eminem Presents: The Re-Up was more successful than them all...

What do you think about the spice girls?

  • BLACK

SO IT WOULD BE A "SLAUGHTERHOUSE FEAT. 2 OTHER NIGGAZ" ALBUM....WTF IS THE POINT???

    • cesar

no it would be slaughterhouse,yelawolf,eminem,dr.dre,50 cent, skylar grey

    • Anonymous

No, all previous artists would be left out it's SHADY 2.0... maybe this album would come out in a couple more years, when a couple more artists are signed *cough* Jon Connor *cough* it could be crazy dope though Shady has producers like The Alchemist & Mr. Porter etc.

    • Anonymous

Nah. He'd bring in Obie. Probably Dre as well. Hell, Em and Jimmy might even throw a bone to Cashis and Bobby Creekwater.

  • royce

imma big fan of shady records ...the only thing they missing is the hype...i mean back in '00 to '06 they were like 3 labels working together they had songs with each other...i remember Obie Trice did songs with Yayo,50 cent was doing shit with D12,Warren G with Obie,Snoop Dog with Em,Dre with 50 cent etc...those kind of features made Shady Records big...they need to drop this album and work with G Unit and Aftermath again...who wouldnt want to hear 2 thugs like Royce and 50 cent on the same track? or Joell Ortiz with Yelawolf,Lloyd Banks and Kendrick Lamar etc

  • Anonymous

I dont see why any artist with any common sense and/or dignity would sign to any major label period at this point. Yela didnt really get any extra juice from fuckin with shady, he was selling out clubs all over the south anyway just on the strength of "Trunk Muzik", Trying too hard to crossover with "Radioactive" probably hurt him more then it helped him.

  • So Icy Boi!

it will be da gayest album ever. awwww Eminem and his lovers... how sweet? what will dey rap about? assraping? dese assbandits are patetic. Laughterhouse aka Faggothouse is da biggest pop rap group ever. EM and YELA are da gayest rappers ever. Lil Wayne is da last real rapper standing. smh. swag

Catfish Billy ant is bizarre tho

  • Anonymous

Fuck all shady fans all they care about isEminem himself

    • Shady 2.0

Well that's not true... Because of me being a big fan of Eminem I've always supported Shady Records checking out artists material when he signs them so far we've been let down but he relaunching the label I think it would flourish more when (dreadful thought) he stops making solo albums... D12: Devil's Night was dope as fuck but D12 World was terrible, I personally think there should be no more D12 after Proof's death Obie Trice: Way too underrated can't believe Interscope wouldn't release anymore of his albums after charting 5 & 8 and Soulja Boy is still on Interscope when his albums went 4, 43 & 90! 50 Cent: Great signing, well initially at least just think Em & Dre should fully get behind this last album to leave on a good note (maybe should of signed a 4 album deal lol) Stat Quo: Dope artist, shame he got held back... Bobby Creekwater: Liked him a lot better than Stat Quo seriously overlooked, again shame he got held back... Ca$his: Nope, didn't like him at all, he could spit a good verse one every 20 but cant believe he was signed (blame the drugs) Slaugherhouse: Inspiring signing whether haters like it or not SH have more recognition since signing to Shady and I think that's great for the rap game. Yelawolf: He's okay, Radioactive want that good but if you did slim it down to like your favourite 7 songs it would be a tight EP Bad Meets Evil: COME ON!! YES!!!

  • c4 triple plat

yeah all 4 shady 2.0 fans are totally dying for that compilation album dude bro!

  • Kris

Sick interview, wish this dude more success. What kind of kicks is he wearin?

  • Anonymous

lol, yelawolf still thinks Shady is gonna put out his next album, delusions of grandeur

  • I Am SPAM!

Shady needs to put out 50's album so they release him and sign Jon Connor and then put out a Shady 2.0 album!

    • Shady 2.0

If Connor signed to Shady his buzz would fly through the roof! His flow & lyrics are A LOT better than most artists out today then him being on Shady he could work with a better class of producers to allow him to stand out more... Banks dope as fuck as well I agree he should sign to Shady though I've never really thought about it before. In dream land Nas should sign to Shady after he leaves Def Jam (DREAM!)

    • Anonymous

Connor is overrated dudes flow is basic and lyrics are good but they aren't that good. Plus he doesn't have enough buzz to be on a major label. Banks would be cool on Shady I guess.

    • Huffy

sign connor and banks man that would be sick

    • the dude

More like drop 50 and sign Lloyd Banks since 50 don't want him. Banks would absolutely flourish being around Slaughterhouse and Em as opposed to Yayo and all those other garbage acts 50 signed. Connor is nice though.

    • dude

More like drop 50 and sign Lloyd Banks since 50 don't want him. Banks would absolutely flourish being around Slaughterhouse and Em as opposed to Yayo and all those other garbage acts 50 signed. Connor is dope though.
