Right now YMCMB and MMG are getting a lot of shine. However, I think that Kanye just makes one move and that entire team could take one of the other labels out of the limelight. Just have to wait on the G.O.O.D Music compilation to drop and for it to be good to start the movement. Mos Def - He is signed to them since 2010, even though he hasn't dropped a single LP under the label. Can't deny his ability as an MC and influence on the culture. Pusha-T - Definiately better than mediocore, as a member of Clipse he already proved that. That "Fear of God" mixtape and EP was fire, can't wait for his solo debut. Q-Tip - Maybe more like a producer than a rapper, but an undeniable legend for sure. With the Tribe Called Quest or on his solo materials, he can hold his own in the mic. Cyhi the Prynce - Its clear that he's not the same category with aforementioned ones, but Kanye signed him for a reason. Just listen his mixtapes or guest verses on G.O.O.D. Friday tracks, Chyi is nice. Kid Cudi - You can call him whatever you want, but as an artist he is a standout. Oh, and he can rap. Maybe hardcore fans don't consider him as a great MC, but he's far more talented than majority of the other dudes out there. Cudi has his own flavour yet so versatile, like it or not, mediocre is the last thing you can tell about him. Big Sean - He's alright, but yeah, maybe he is the closest to what your question referred to. Finally Famous flopped commercially and critically, but it was not bad at all! So Sean makes good music, but he's lightweight and sometimes has a tendency to go hip-pop, that's all. Note that the fact that I just mentioned rappers was on purpose, as I thought your statement was pointed at them. Anyway, speaking about G.O.O.D Music we can't forget about John Legend and Mr. Hudson, who are extremely talented singers and songwriters, far below average. Especially the former, the 9 Grammy wins and 6 other nominations speaks for itself. Overall, I can't see why G.O.O.D Music's roster would be full of medocracity, as you claimed.
