Jay-Z Working With Jahlil Beats On New Music

Roc Nation producer Jahlil Beats says he's cooking up new music with Jay-Z.

Roc Nation producer Jahlil Beats recently chopped it up with XXLMag.com, explaining how he and Jay-Z are working on new music together. Though he wouldn't go into detail, Jahlil said that he has been sending tracks to Hov and that he settled on a few instrumentals, but that they're definitely working with one another for an unnamed project.

"Me and Jay-Z been going back and forth. He picked a couple of my joints that he’s working on. I don’t even wanna say too much about Jay, but we definitely working on some stuff. I haven’t even sent him a bunch of beats. I sent him my favorite stuff. He hit me right back like, ‘Yo, I’ma go in on this,’ or, ‘I like this.’”

The 24-year-old also said that he's been working with No I.D. on ironing out a "situation," stating that the veteran producer is taking him under his wing like he did with Kanye West. He also confirmed that he's cut a few tracks with J. Cole, Big Sean and Busta Rhymes.

"Roc Nation treating me good. They got me working for real. I did some stuff with J. Cole, we cut a couple joints. Big Sean. Busta Rhymes. I was out in London working with Leona Lewis and somebody else that we ain’t really gonna talk about right now, but it’s ridiculous. I’m also working with ‘Kiss, Styles. I got Ross. We just dropped Ace Hood’s single for his album. I’m on Khaled’s album. DJ Drama.”

And who said this guy wouldn't benefit from being signed to Roc Nation? Idiots spoke too soon as usual, and I couldn't name one of his tracks off the top.

Jay-z has always used producers from other regions to diversify his sound. See Neptunes, Timbaland, Rick Rock, DJ Quick, Eminem, Dr. Dre.... I can really go on! So to say Jay-z is riding the wave of new producers or is doing something he never did is false and misleading. Also when Jay-z does hit up the hot new producer he never takes a copy cat beat in fact that producer often gives him a type of beat we never heard from that producer.

Man, Jay Z, what the FUCK are you doing? We already have enough New York rappers using a Southern sound, now you, one of the biggest rappers out period, are gonna go and use some Lex Luger knockoff? You have KANYE WEST and JUST BLAZE man, wtf is wrong with you?

Jay cant just do his own thing? He gotta keep trying to maintain relevance and use these fruity loop ass producers? Outta touch ass nigga he been jumpin on every bandwagon ever since Vol. 1 when he jumped on the shiny suits shit, vol. 2 he was on the ruff ryders dick, etc. Just gonna be another disappointing Jay album

@smh: Yeah. Glad to see you also see thru the bull and understand what this dude has done his whole entire career. Nigga isn't a creator..he's a duplicator. Whatever wave is hot that's who he rides and rolls with. Even his best work Reasonable Doubt was dick riding Raekwon. @L-Boogie: Pretty much. @biggs: Let's look at his resume' then shall we. How many complete albums has he dropped? 3. RD, BP, BA. That's it. Furthermore you're speaking on grammys like they actually are worth a fuck now. LOL! And Jay's resume' reads off as a nigga who swagger jacks and dick rides anything to get paid cause blind sheep eat it up. @Anonymous: Jay's far from the GOAT. Sorry, pimp. You have to create something of your own in order to be such. And GOAT doesn't consistently and constantly ride coat tails. Just saying. Saying this is "versatility" is a big ass laughingstock. You probably sleep with a dildo.

More than anything i am surprised you lames dont see the bright side, Jahlil beat is a young and upcoming kid with potentials, that is call sustaining a genre, jays has a perfect track record that goes way back from bringing up the just blazes and pharrels and kanye's way back when no one knew they existed, tell me that is not something positive. All you lames want is another blueprint one type shit. Sorry while you are stuck on the past people are moving on, that same fruity loops shit is responsible for many hit records out there and guess what, Jay will always go platinium whether you like his ish or not.

I agree man. Jay is just as bad as Wayne and Drake and all these other lame bandwagon rappers. The man hasn't had a classic album since The Black Album.
