Mobb Deep Appear Together Attending A New York Knicks Game

In a week that began with a controversial Twitter storm of words, Prodigy and Havoc kicked off their weekend together at an NBA game.

Following a highly-publicized beef on Twitter, Queens, New York Hip Hop duo Mobb Deep was photographed court-side at Friday night's (April 13) New York Knicks game. Prodigy and Havoc attended the game where the Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards.

On Sunday of last week, the pair engaged in a public war of words on Twitter. In the days after, Havoc claimed the diatribe was not authentic, but the bi-product of a lost cell phone. Later in the week, sources close to the 20-year recording duo revealed that another Mobb Deep album releasing was unlikely.

Last year, following Prodigy's release from a three-year prison sentence, Mobb Deep released the Black Cocaine EP.

And when I say better music I mean if your life has changed, rap about that. If you just got off drugs, rap about that too. Anything other than I'm a thug. I'm from QB. My hollow tip slugs will melt your face. Wake me up when the brag fest is over.

The guy under me is an idiot with that being said there is a couple ways to describe this situation, media bullshit and snakes in the grass. Peace

"You don't get it, they cannot branch out it will take them out of their element" That's a matter of opinion. True artists, I.E. real entertainers, understand that in order to be accepted by the fickle mainstream, they need to step out of that element and simply make better music. Eminem has done it. Jay. Wayne. T.I. The list is endless. So then why is Mobb Deep way down at the bottom of that list? This whole queensbridge mentality worked in the beginning, but people grow up. What sounded grimey before, sounds boring today.

  • YESSIR

THEM NIGGAS IS OLD WAYNE IS 29 DRAKE IS 25.

"that what he's trying to say, they keep doing the youthful things to attract the youthful demographic" Since when has Mobb Deep ever tried to attract the youth? Their lyrics are always the same. Their outlook, even when 50 paid them, was the same.

    • Anonymous

You don't get it, they cannot branch out it will take them out of their element. They have to stick to the street, Queensbridge get high and roll with your peoples and if you look at me funny I'ma pop you music, no one will listen to Mobb Deep rapping about living in New Jersey and handling business to take care of their family. Havoc boxed himself in way back when he said no matter how much he get, he's gonna stay in the projects.

"Mobb Deep was never relevant. Quiet storm was the only hit. Seriosly when was Mob Deep ever hot, except making controversial statements" "C'mon niggas. To everybody that talked shit about "the truth", you can't deny that Mobb Deep never was hot like Pac, Biggie, Jay or Nas." +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ IF U AIN'T FROM THE TRI-STATE AREA, BEEN TO THE TUNNEL WHEN SHOOK ONES & SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST CAME ON, CHILLED IN THE HOODS OF ALL 5 BOROUGHS AND HEARD AND SEEN THE GULLY N!GGAS BLAST THAT MOBB OUT THE SPEAKERS, LISTENED TO MOBB IN STEADY RADIO ROTATION ON HOT97, BEEN TO BENTLEY'S WHEN PUFF & BIG USED TO BE THERE SMOKING TELLING FLASH TO PLAY MOBB MUSIC, I DON'T RESPECT YO' OPINION.

    • Anonymous

Most of these niggas outside the tristate area only know hip hop as a music. We in NY,NJ and CT..I'd throw Philly in there too. Only know the music, they don't know the culture. MY NY Niggas stand up! We special be...these other dudes is just babbling outside niggas who know Hip Ho through fuckin Itunes!

    • RDCJ

Yo the Mobb was hot in the streats like any of them than dude mentioned. Plus back then you coulden't judge them like that since Hip Hop wasen't comercial like that but one thing for sure was that The Infamous was as hot for its time as any album that came out at that time.

    • Anonymous

THAT WASN'T MEANT TO DISS THE KIDS, TO SHOW SOME OF THESE MORONS THEY'RE TALKING TRASH TO SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WHO EXPERIENCED THE NYC RAP SCENE. YOU TUBE DOESN'T TELL YOU VIN DIESEL WAS BOUNCING AT THE TUNNEL AND THE UNISEX BATHROOMS AND THE CAGE (GHOSTFACE IN RZA'S HOLOCAUST/SILKWORM VIDEO). AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS EITHER, SOMEONE WILL ANSWER WHO KNOWS.

    • jay

yea mobb was def hot. I wish i coulda experienced that shit, but im just a kids

  • Anonymous

They had no choice but to work it out....How would they continue to tour and make money?

    • thafranchise

It's obvious that it was never true because it never came form P or Havoc's mouth. You just going off of what a website tell's you. Don't believe everything you hear. lol

    • Anonymous

Half of this is somewhat accurate. They just signed a deal with Sony, so yes there is obligation (why some see the grown man truce in this). Prodigy could get a solo deal with Alchemist & Sid Roams production, Havoc may be able to sell some beats by getting a production deal for a label or licensing. They do stand a chance to make money separate of each other.

  • Mobb Deep Fan

This goes out to all you Mobb Deep haters out there. You can't touch them, faggots. Recognize Mobb Deep is family and they will never beef in their lifetime. BIATCH

"The reason the "old" rappers end up not sounding as good is they being forced to make youthful sounding music" Not necessarily. The problem is they've been rapping about the same boring things for years now. Production wise, I think they've been under-rated, but lyrically, they got stale.

    • Anonymous

The problem is they've been rapping about the same boring things for years now. ^ that what he's trying to say, they keep doing the youthful things to attract the youthful demographic. Look at the father of children Lil' Wayne going back to his childhood riding skateboards and hipster clothes the kids are wearing. If Wayne put on a button down, slacks and cap toe shoes and rapped fatherhood and how to handle a home, it would be over.

  • Darts

Wow. These two sure did learn the art of fuckery while they were over there in that gunit camp. What a shame.

    • Anonymous

Or there are some serious issues behind the scenes and they are subduing it for business reasons. What a shame people like you think every little thing is for press and a buzz.

  • The Truth

Mobb Deep was never relevant. Quiet storm was the only hit. Seriosly when was Mob Deep ever hot, except making controversial statements, whether it was talkin shit about 2pac after he was dead,or wheather talking shit about Jay Z and now to keep it relevant and get some publicity this niggaz are talking shit to each other. HAHA fucken LOOSERS. FUCK mob deep and anybody who thinks this wack ass hoes were ever hot.

    • Anonymous

loL "the truth" done turned into opinion, couldn't back one thing you said. You mad because you fell for the media/internet hype, that's all.

    • The Truth

FUCK MOBB DEEP. NIGGAZ MAKING HEADLINES SAME WAY AS KIM KARDASHIAN...SCANDAL...MAKE SOME GOOD MUSIC FOR THE STREETS. FAKE NIGGAZ.

    • Anonymous

ALL THEM PEOPLE YOU NAMED LISTENED TO THEM. How you think Pac knew about P's sickle cell? Why you think Mr I-don't-say-names Jay-Z named P? You forgot about the Mobb Nas collabo? there are old interviews out there with Big saying he f_ucks with Mobb music. That sales crap you talking is for young minded impressionable people who have no knowledge. He said MOBB DEEP WAS NEVER RELEVANT, and we are DISPUTING THAT, not WHO SOLD MORE.

    • Mobb Deep Ain't Shit

C'mon niggas. To everybody that talked shit about "the truth", you can't deny that Mobb Deep never was hot like Pac, Biggie, Jay or Nas. Their best sellin sold only a million. Compare that to Pac sales, they ain't shit.

    • Anonymous

loL @ the lies being spread by "the truth". I'm starting to see a trend where these kids read the comments, hear a couple of songs and start acting like they were there at these rap eras to tell others the deal.

    • 1love

you clown infamous is one of the best hip hop albums of all time go listen to nicki minas or wiz khalifa you fa-ggot cause you obviously know nothing about real hip hop

    • Mr Flamboyant

Man and he had the nerve to post his name as "The Truth". Lyin' ass bitch.

    • Anonymous

You must not know a thing about East Coast Hip-Hop if you think Mobb Deep was never hot.

  • Anonymous

Cormega destroyed them on every track they did together, no wonder they won't work with him again.

  • Vagabond

I agree with the age thing. Why does age matter so much in hip hop and only the hip hop genre. The reason the "old" rappers end up not sounding as good is they being forced to make youthful sounding music. If you grown talk about grown shit. What I do not like tho is that tis past week of mobb deep news seems like stunts to keep their careers alive and a lil pub before they drop a new album. Really some hoe nigga shit but thats the music industry

  • kennyken

    this means nothing.

  • jesterxxl

Thank fuck they still a team they have great chemistry even when they don't release a full solid album which they haven't done in a minute but they still no how to drop real talk shit. • killah_casp

i agree some of the greatest artists alive are over the 30 bar and rather than respect and acknowledge everything that artist has done for hip hop , all the classic tracks they released and the fact they can still spit doper shit then any off this bitch hop on the radio they would rather spend all there time spilling dirt on that artist because these people are known as internet fags they spread there shit from there laptop because there life is so sad and perfetic so that how they get a thrill chatting shit because there life is so shit

    • Anonymous

Look at the immaturity in the comment talk, of course they have issues with older people. Either not a mentor around for them to learn from, or they are shackled because of their adolescent ways and blame the elders. It's deeper than rap.

    • Anonymous

I always point this out as well when people say this. Good list.

Most likely some young kid posing. If he had these early albums like he said with Mobb Deep & Nas, he would state the names. That's a disclaimer so no one will reply to his nonsense.

LOOK AT THE GAY COUPLE OUT TO A KNICKS GAME? ALSO DX IS LATE AS USUAL WITH THIS POST

  • Alf Gang

Here's the truth, all the people around them getting paper were like "hey, you guys suck it up, put your differences aside, don't disappoint the fans, you will ruin your careers, you guys are all you have." BECAUSE people, they ARE beefing. Even Stevie Wonder can see this. A lot of drama happens behind the scenes, and every now and then something gets let out to the public due to egos, immaturity etc. Like Dipset, EPMD, Wu, Rocafella or what have you. We can all deny it because we are all fans, and sure some crews make up at the end of the day, but let's be real, these guys were sorted out by their money making peeps, and told to do that thing that all celebs do to avoid any assumptions. Like why do they have to show up to a game together all of a sudden? Get it through your heads people...

    • Mr Flamboyant

@Alf Gang Thank you, good sirs. Thank you.

    • Anonymous

And I just googled Pete & CL, details are vague. How it should be.

    • Anonymous

Not saying you're wrong, not saying you're right. The actual fact truth is their personal issues should not matter to the consumer. To my recollection no one pointed fingers and called h_mo when Pete Rock & CL Smooth split up. I don't even remember any press beyond the radio station telling the people.

  • MobbSleep

Publicity stunt ass niggas lame as hell need to get back to that 'temperatures rising" shit

    • Anonymous

Publicity stunt? Or people got caught up in the internet shenanigans and gossip? There are 100's of comments in the archives here where people were going in on Prodigy something terrible and he ain't even do anything. It's easy to say "publicity stunt", but that Twitter rant looked like one of those HHDX comments where these clowns try to act "ghetto" and talk all types of reckless things for attention. You can say a drunken Tweet, but when it said "JAY-Z HOLLA", it looked funny in the light. Why in Earth's good name would Jay need to get involved with some jail stuff Prodigy did? In 2012? Anyway, back to real life. Co-sign "Temperature's Rising".

    • Anonymous

thats gotta be one of my all time fav songs from mobb deep

  • FUCK DUDE

Why does Prodigy feel the need to look so fucking cool all the time? why can't he just chill

  • Anonymous

    hello publicity stunt...

  • Anonymous

watch, no one is going to care people only had something to say when they thought prodigy was a homo like wayne

  • I Can't Get With That

This goes out to all you Mobb Deep haters out there.

  • Anonymous

smmfh...dudes were in here calling Prodigy all times of h_mo

  • gok

Would be a shame if they weren't together as a group. Still think they were one of the best NY duos. Two classic albums and some quality tracks on others. Would like them to stick together simply to perform their classic songs. Still yet to see them do Shook Ones live...

  • thatswhathappens

you guys are way late on this. Friday night would be April 13th, by the way

    • Lars

Be it as it may, at least HHDX aint that bad as AHH, where they start posting shit like 3 days to a week later that everybody is aware of, and their wack ass rumors section that is literally them creating rumors and not whats really buzzing.
