Killer Mike Speaks On Releasing Joint Album With Big Boi

Killer Mike says fans can expect "slum, drum Cadillac music" on his joint album with Big Boi of Outkast.

Only days after Beanie Sigel and Scarface announced that they would be dropping a joint album, it looks we can expect yet another joint project from two Hip Hop heavyweights. During an interview with HipHopWired.com, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike revealed that he’ll be working with fellow ATLien Big Boi on a joint album.
Killer Mike revealed that fans can expect a much harder sound when it comes to his album with Big Boi, a sound somewhat reminiscent of the Speakerboxxx track “Bust.”
“I’m looking forward to going back and forth with Big a whole record. Like people always like the collaborations we did,” Killer Mike explained. “And I’m not talking about the ‘Whole World’ stuff you know, the ‘A.D.I.D.A.S.’ I’m talking about ‘Bust.’ You know what I mean? Snapping and trapping. When it’s just me and him, just two pitbulls going at a bone.”
Killer Mike went on to explain that his skill set on a song tends to fluctuate depending on who he’s collaborating with.
“That’s what I enjoy cause my skill set goes up according to who I’m with so when I rap with Big Boi, T.I., and Bun B magic happens,” said Killer Mike. “So I’m looking forward to going 12 songs back and forth. And I’mma just tell ya’ll like my whole inspiration is that pimp, playa Big Boi shit. The beats I’m picking and bringing to it man, this gonna be some of that slum, drum Cadillac music. Believe that.”
No other details on Killer Mike and Big Boi’s album were revealed.

as much as I'd rather a new Outkast album; this album is gonna be fire. I just hope they don't ruin it with bullshit southern artist features. Outside of DF there should be nothing but legends on this album

Bow Down to of the realest in the southern music scene bout to really do this! Excellent! Great News! After Big Boi last album which I still play on a regular basis I am ready for more.

At this point I think I'd rather hear a Big Boi Killer Mike joint then a new Outkast record, Dre just got too spaced out for me personally, I think Mike & Big Boi would make a retro feeling Mid 90's Dungeon Family record together, where as Dre doesnt seem into doing that kind of stuff anymore

Are niggas supposed to catch amnesia or something. Wasn't Pill a part of this shit back when he was with MMG? That's fucked up!!!

Best news I've heard in quite some time! Bang, Bang Bang!

Im not against this, 3 stacks made it pretty clear outkast is pretty much done. But this joint LP trend is getting a little too common, everyone feels the need to do it just because Em and Royce did it and Jay and Ye did it. Hell, there's even rumblings that Jay approached Em about doing one together. IMO a lot of these joint projects should be EPs instead of LPs.

Why not an LP if that's what the fans want in today's climate you have to give it to them. EP or LP it is still a sell. The fans are going to buy this record because it is two quality artists on the tracks. Peace.

The trend started before em and jay dude

YOU AND MICAH FORGOT THEY WERE IN A GROUP CALLED PURPLE RIBBON ALL-STARS? NOT SURPRISED. Y'ALL KEEP FOLLOWING THEM TWEETS LIKE YOU'RE INFORMED AND KNOW IT ALL.

  • micah dancy

Killer mike and big boi should form a group because to me outkast might be over i might be speaking ahead but andre 3000 is just not into it no more its evident since speakerboxx and love below but what about pill he is slept on highly put him in the group but get andre 3000 on the song please

  • daman

Been an outkast fan since the first album but this shit could be epic. Straight street fire. I love 3000 like the next nig but Big Boi daddy fat stacks likely underated and unappreciated in this hip hop game. Ppl acting like he never helped pick the beats, concepts and songs on the outkast classic LP!

  • truth

I guess big boi said fuck it.....Andre 3000 ain't trying to work with him...so do one with killa mike

  • Jus10

    My ears just perked up.
