Mistah F.A.B. Explains Mentoring Kreayshawn and V-Nasty

Mistah F.A.B. talks about mentoring Kreayshawn and V-Nasty and why it's important for Bay Area artists should have each others' backs.

Mistah F.A.B. drew heavy fire from Internet critics over the summer when the Bay Area emcee defended V-Nasty for using the n-word. Now, in a recent interview with 2DopeBoyz and The Well Versed, F.A.B. explained his real relationship with the White Girl Mob member and her frequent collaborator Kreayshawn.

Fabby Davis, Jr. explained that he's established a mentor relationship with the White Girl Mob emcees over the past year. He said that Kreayshawn and V-Nasty weren't getting the kind of respect and representation that he felt they deserved, and that it was only right for a fellow Bay Area representative like himself to have their backs.

"Knowing the ideology, demographic and cultural upbringing [of Oakland], I realized that the rest of the world wouldn't understand them doing what it is that they do," he explained. "[I chose to mentor them] when everybody else backed down because it would be too controversial, too sketchy and too edgy for their promising careers. A lot of the people had the ability to be a spokesman and say ‘Yo, this is just what goes on in our area.’ But everybody else backed down and tried to leave them on the edge, I felt like that wasn’t right. I’ve been a person who has been misunderstood, I’ve been a person who has been on the pilgrimage of controversy…my whole career has been that. To be misunderstood is a touchy feeling. You look at these young girls and you see that there’s no one there to mentor them or allow them to [represent what goes on in their city]. I’m not going to leave them out there to dry out like that."

Unbelievable that you would be attempting to criticize anybody for anything at all, when you don't understand the difference between those two people. Especially if you are black.

so is his....all music from the Bay is trash, there's something in the water there that makes people f*ing stupid.

  • kayaman

Defending them for using "the N word" ok....I understand.....but mentoring them?!!?....their whole musical style is horrible

  • I'm not famous

Not going to lie, I clicked this link hoping to laugh because I hoped Mistah FAB said "because I hit it"...I can't think of a funnier, more out of left field response than that. And no, it's got nothing to do with them being attractive or not, simply the shock value of that statement would have had me in tears laughing

  • Anonymous

Its not like you have anything to lose anyway, lets be honest nobody cares about Mistah F.A.B anymore, he's at the "Any Publicity is better then no publicity" stage, people care more about his opinion on V Nasty & The N Word then any of his new music
