Nas Denies Launching Kings And Queens Record Label

UPDATE: Contrary to Tyga's comments, Nas is not starting a record label.

Nas has reportedly launched a new record label titled Kings and Queens.

During an interview on MTV's RapFix Live with Sway Calloway, Tyga, who collaborated with Esco and Wale on the cut "Kings and Queens," said that the Queensbridge rapper took inspiration from the cut and decided to start his own imprint bearing the same name.

"[Nas] actually has a label called Kings and Queens that he just started, so he was like, it's just cliché that I sent him a song called '[King] and Queens' and he just started a label called Kings and Queens, which is crazy," he said.

Nas previously launched Ill Will Records in 1999 upon releasing his fourth album Nastradamus. In 2005, he launched The Jones Experience under Def Jam.

[March 4]

UPDATE: Contrary to earlier reports, Nas is not starting a Kings and Queens record label. Nas' manager Anthony Saleh spoke with XXLMag.com, denying that Esco launched the imprint.

Miami kid - Nic Cage blew through $120 million. And that was just money he spent. His accountant mismanaged much more. Ask Kenny Anderson and Antoine Walker. They had "NBA" money. $50 million and up, and had people coming to them with business proposals AKA Get rich schemes. Today, they're broke. Point being, it's not hard to believe these reports on Nas. On paper it might say he's worth X number of millions, while in reality he might not have a pot to piss in. To be fair, he wouldn't be the first celebrity to feel the sting of a costly divorce.

    • Anonymous

If you want to be fair you would realize that you have no idea what Nasir Jones' financial situation is. We haven't heard about him not paying child support, alimony, or mortgage. People HEAR about their financial situations, but do not KNOW what their true assets and net worth are. The tax men have never said Nas NEVER pays, but that he OWES.

  • sonshine83

I was hype when I heard the news but I knew Nas wouldn't take responsibility of other careers he hasn't with his...Hip Hop is Dead? Well bring it back to life by help aid the young head how holdn it down #epicFAIL shout to HOV for J.Cole follow @DACHILDOFHIPHOP

how stupid is tyga? he cant even use the word "cliche" in the right context.. im not hating thats just a fact which points towards the brains on these ymcmb cats.. what more to expect from RACK CITY BITCH

  • Anonymous

Good to hear it was just some bullshit rumor. Nas can't handle his own business properly, let alone other emcee's.

    • Anonymous

Excuse me, but that was NOT Nas' personal concert promoter, and Nas gave the money back. You should refrain from analyzing someone else's business when you do not know THE business. Rappers do not have personal concert promoters, they have booking agents and managers, and I can see Nas' people told him NOT to go to Africa. How is that? There was another rapper who was paid and he didn't show up either. "A rep for AllGood Entertainment CEO Patrick Allocco tells TMZ ... Patrick and his son were snatched by hired goons working for a local "concert impresario" named Henrique Riquhino Miguel ... who anted up big bucks for the NYE show. Allocco's people claim Nas and opening act Jemiah Jai were paid $315k to perform two shows ... but failed to board their flights in the U.S. in time to make it on stage in Angola. According to Allocco's team ... Miguel was PISSED ... and didn't want Allocco to leave the country without resolving the whole money issue ... so he sent his people to take them into custody at gunpoint."

    • Anonymous

Reneging on a business obligation which he was paid upward of $300,000 to perform in Africa, instead going to LeBron's 27th birthday party, resulting in Nas' concert promoter being kidnapped at gunpoint is handling your business properly? This cat is one of the all time greats, but dude has mental lapses that can fuck a young emcee's shit up.

    • Anonymous

How can Nas not handle business but co-own a very successful touring company as well as several other businesses?

  • Anonymous

I mean if you were to look at this video in retrospect and see the way Tyga handled himself, now with the understanding that the dude was full of shit, and was speaking out of his asshole victimizing himself into some state of, I'm gonna say some wild shit casually even though it may not be exact, then retreat to an analytical state of mind and see where these fucken dumbass zombified idiots are making their claims. You have this innocuous rapper with no real concise grounded rationality on what he's saying but so long as he says it in a humble and meek way, what he says is taken as truth. ? No, ? Not a bit of doubt huh? Wow. . .. learn how to fucking think before you think. Fuck thinking before you speak, learn how to think before you think . Then listen to some Nas and train your mind to grasp the sociologically incomprehensible instead of some witty wordplay.

  • Anonymous

Tyga, and most these fucks that dick ride the dude, is young and impressionable and fronts like he isn't. Making sure he doesn't flip flop on his own statements, while nas just casually and apprehensively waits on whether some reporter, journalist, whatever, is gonna presume some shit. nas's antics and tactics, his tact, his overall tact, is so fucken foreign to these idiots rationality. But nas so is a man of reservation, so people think him unaware, what have you, till they hear the man lyrically and can't even keep up with half the shit he says. I mean, IF nas were to slow his lyricism just to casual degrade these fucks, it would be another story, but they'd probably get at him on some Jay Electronica type shit like, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND! It's not about money clothes cars and hoes! WTF??????? and then you wonder why Too Short comes out and talks about the influence the music industry has on suppressing a collective voice of social awareness.. Listen carefully to Nas, he might be one of our last lyrical geniuses and social empowerers out there.

  • MiamiKid

Everybody want to comment on Nas bank account and dont know him or how he's living, this is disgusting. And just because you hear reports of him owing back taxes doesnt't mean someone is broke. Bc first off you have to make alot of money to owe back such a large sum of money over the years. Those articles never says he didn't pay taxes it just states that he owes. So being that I work in the finance industry I look at it sort of different, I know rich people like like Nas who have been in these situations for trying to hide their money and not reporting it correctly. Nas just needs some better accountants to do a better job on the loop holes and write-offs. Calling him broke is ridiculous when we all just witnessed him getting paid $300k for one show...how many shows do u think he may book a month and thats just show money. I can remember after Kelis was awarded around 25k/month she complained that it wasn't enough and put Nas on blast saying he makes a sh*tload of money, after that the judge requests all Nas financial records and gave her more money. So clearly the judge saw Nas has money coming from all angles. Even Steve Stout has talked about Nas investments/real estate. The homie good he just need to stop trying to stiff uncle Sam

    • ETK

co-sign!! been sayin this shit, but dumbasses out there assume I'm some Nas dickrider when I barely bump the dude. fuckin dolts, need their mama to smack em upside the head a bit

    • Anonymous

yeah, really, It's like a convenient amnesia that comes with apprehensively envying somebody, yugh, but this guy Tyga is such a wack bitch, that he literally had to identify himself all meek and what not to get some kind of halo effect going by recognizing Nas and his efforts, some wack shit, chronologically? It adds up. I mean the guy isn't respected amongst hip hop heads, he's recognized amongst hypies, but not respected. Not the realm of Hip Hop. There is a fine line between respect and admiration, people admire Tyga, others, and many, to qualify the others, admire and respect Nas to the fullest. I'm 22 and am lucky enough to see the evolution of the man, whereas Tyga is really just a hypie with ambiguous lyrics and little to no creative control cause he has to appeal to certain people to make money, Nas doesn't think like that, he is a hustler, but doesn't compromise his lyrical principality to make music and people like Tyga, and those sheepish idiots that follow the fuck, get a kick out of any ANY elaborate description that defends Nas and truly talented artists like him. As though our efforts, be it casual or passionate, go in vain in comparison to a simple little fucken trite soundbite hype that these mainstream dick riders write ,

    • Anonymous

and they will skip right over this and keep repeating the same BS over and over

  • thought dog

In other news...Tyga has stated he is ready to start puberty. Expect Tyga to develop a chest, weight and a more masculine voice in the coming months.

No, you worship his music. The point of all this is Nas is broke. If he's not, why all the bad press about his life and finances?

  • Hok

lol looks like jay z really did win the war, jays got $450mil, while nas is some broke ass fool thats payin child support

    • Hok

You know you are catering to this dudes opinion by suggesting you'll change the way he saw the battle, don't cater to this man's opinion by furthering it be deemed a "war". .Nas killed it. Period, end of story. And the man will always fall against the waist-side if there's dumbass hip hop hypies thinking that anything "provocative" lol, is dope? It just doesn't work that way. You can't already convert the hopelessly entranced. If the hopelessly entranced think they aren't hopeless or entranced and especially if their thinking is tolerated and upheld by mainstream standards, it just doesn't work that way. Listen to Mos Def's "Niggas In Poorest" Check out the video, tell me that a dumb ass like this dude would understand the lyricism and tell me that a dumb ass like most of the stans on here ,. Would understand the lyrics. Tell me. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY fucken doubt it.

    • JJ

I love Hov, but Nas ethered him literally on wax. Jay has more money but when it comes to music Nas killed him wit that track.

    • Dow Jones

The war? Jay and Nas went at it on record, Nas won and that was the end of that war. There isn't some lifelong battle between the two, Nas won, Jay lost. End of story.

  • Oh Tyga

    you fucking idiot.

  • ummmmm

reading these comments is hilarious and sad at the same time. Why do people act like you are only allowed to like ONE artist? This story is about Nas. So why are the pro-lil wayne people in here dissing? And a few pro-jay people too. I don't get it. What's wrong with our culture when people act like you can only like ONE artist? Why do we have to choose sides? smh.

  • Anonymous

He's having trouble getting his own album out. I think Nas should refocus. Look at those early albums to see what his fans liked and didn't like, then just get back in the studio and work. To see an artist with talent do so little is almost as worse as seeing a no talent hack do everything.

  • Anonymous

all you haters can suck a fat nasty nas is still the king of this rap thing. all you can do is tlak about his wealth and bitch like a bunch of idiots. You can't look past the surface and see how hes been blessing us with with real and ill music.

I won't be too bothered with how much Nas has in his back account, or his divorce and everything that came with it. Only bitches do that. I just listen to his music.

co-sign OP and some of these niggas are way hypocritical. when it comes to YMCMB, only their lack of skills matter, the fact they're makin lots of dough, lots of moves, isn't an issue. but when it comes to Nas, lyrics don't matter no more, we all know he's nice right? now it's all CHILD SUPPORT. CONCERT ALLOCATIONS. AFRICA. MONEY MONEY MONEY. NOT A GOOD BUSINESSMAN - since when has that fuckin mattered to you? only place where it should matter is cause he's not droppin an album, that's true and I'm lookin forward to that if anything.

  • hiphopsince79

I'm a fan of Nas' music. Been a fan since 95 when I heard "The World is Yours". He's definitely in my top 5 with Pac, Andre 3k, Biggie, & Scarface. As a true fan I can honestly say I Am, Nastradamus, & The Firm are the only blemish on his record. As for his business since he's very suspect. Compared to where JayZ took his career business wise, there is no comparison. Nas is my man but he's an artist..period. He already had a label Ill Will, which to my knowledge is no longer in existence. I guess some ppl are just better with $$ than others. That doesn't take away the fact that is a lyrical genius, a legend, & although talks about materialistic things in some of his rhymes. Also talks talks about upliftment, the state of the impoverished, politics, and the black man struggle. To sum it Nas is better at making records than running a record label. It's just not his thing. Besides who would sign to a man who can't pay his taxes? As far a Tyga, he's irrelevant. Just a newcomer who slipped up & stuck his foot in his mouth. For the ppl who don't like Nas you're entitled to your opinion. I know music with actual substance goes over your head anyway. Looking forward to his new cd Life Is Good.

Time to end this G.O.A.T. foolishness. In this constant debate about Jay-Z being the best ever I read things like "Nas will destroy Jay-Z" or "Eminem got a better flow than Jay" Those are OPINIONS. When will you fools learn that you can't win a debate with OPINIONS. Every rapper has a different style based on where they are from, the time period in which they were most successful, and their unique personality. We all can go on for days about our personal preferences but in a debate criteria like this is completely IRRELEVANT and automatically BIASED. The only way to win a debate is with cold hard FACTS. And the fact of the matter is that, when you weigh all of the tangible criteria (Sales, Critical Acclaim, Consistency, Longevity, and Impact) Jay-Z makes the strongest case for the G.O.A.T. Eminem has sold nearly twice as much as Jay-Z, and he is Jay's equal when it comes to longevity and impact. But Em lacks the consistency or critical acclaim that Jay-Z has (Im not talkin cult/fanboy classics, Im talkin CERTIFIED classics. XXL/Rolling Stone/Source approved) Eminem is VERY close though. Nas has enjoyed more critical acclaim and more overall respect in the hip-hop community through the years. And he's definitely equal to Jay with longevity and impact. But he hasn't been no where near as much of a consistent presence in hip-hop as Jay has. And he is obviously lacking in the sales department. Lil Wayne just may be the most consistent rapper of all time. He's no slouch when it comes to longevity and impact either. His glaring flaw? In his 12 year career Lil Wayne has yet to drop a truly critically acclaimed classic album (and it can be done in this climate. just look at kanye's discography). Also, contrary to popular beleif, Wayne lacks in the sales department. Sure, Tha Carter III and IV are blockbuster albums, but his OVERALL sales of 10 mil US pale in comparison to Jay-Z's 31 mil. 2pac is a touchy subject. When it comes to impact, pac takes the cake. No other rapper touched the world like 2pac did. He, like Em, has also sold more than Jay and he was very consistent in his time. Sadly, 2pac passed before his time which allowed Jay-Z to surpass him in longevity and critical acclaim. LL Cool J was the prototype for what a G.O.A.T. could be. He has enjoyed the most longevity, and he was fairly consistent, but his sales, acclaim and overall impact are no where near the likes of 2pac, Eminem, and ofcourse Jay-Z. Biggie, Rakim, Common, Snoop, the list goes on. All of these MC's are great but none of them have the total G.O.A.T. package like Jay-Z does. Jay-Z is the 3rd highest selling rapper of all time, and the richest. He's one of the most acclaimed (perhaps only rivaled by his boy Kanye). He dropped multi-platinum albums YEARLY from 96'-03', and he is still going strong today. He's been in the game since 88'. He's impacted hip-hop in countless ways from starting one of the 1st successful MC-owned record labels, to being the 1st non-athlete with a signature shoe, to surpassing the likes of Elvis with #1 albums. Jay-Z is without question the Greatest MC Of All Time. Period. You don't have to listen to him everyday (Im currently on my Kendrick wave). You don't even have to like him. But for goodness sake, RESPECT THE FACTS.

Really tho man, ill be real wit you . Im not a fan of Nas. I think he got some great albums on his hand, but I just listen to a nigga that constantly contradict himself. First its " black queens and I love my woman", then its "two bitches lace me up". Then he on some "lets come together and bring peace" , the next moment its " Don't make me pull my .45 on him". Then he wanna help Africa , the next he want to rock the finest diamonds. Lyrically, I don't see why people go apesh*t over him. Im not hating I'm just speaking my mind, which some of you (if you disagree) automatically assume, I'm hating on him. Which I'm not. I think theres a gang more dope lyricists than Nas, but he gets credit ,MAINLY (make sure you read what i put before you respond), because of Illmatic, which was a great album. But people I feel are better are Andre 3000, GZA , Black Thought, Cee-Lo , AZ, K-Rino....just to name a few. I wish Nas the best tho. Maybe he can stop biting Pac style from the 90s and be his own man eventually.

A new, not thought to be possible level has been reached. Nastradamus a masterpiece? GOD DAMN!!! Nas stans are working really hard for being labelled as the worst stans ever and they truly deserve that title. Wow, just wow.

    • Anonymous

Nastradamus is a masterpiece?? Well people, this pretty much sums up why NaS stans are the worst. Yes worse then Eminem stans, 2pac stans, Canibus stans, etc. NASTRADAMUS WAS BAD. Hip Hop is dead was boring. I Am... was mediocre. God's Son is overrated. Untitled was great but too much pop beats / choruses (oh wait i forgot its not selling out to have songs with pop beats / choruses if you are NaS). NaS is great but come on he's so inconsistent.

    • .....

And did you say Nastradamus was a masterpiece? Nigga get yo ears checked. Do or Die was a masterpiece. Stankonia , Aquemini, Liquid Swords, The Don Killuminati:7 Day Theory , are masterpieces.......Nastradamus? Nigga get the f*ck outta here.... You on dis nigga dick too hard!

    • No you dumb ass Nas stan

Im not contradicting myself. I was very clear in what I said. Im not a fan of his, but I wish him the best. I don't really fuck wit him like that because he contradicts himself. When i listen to an artist. I also like to do research about em , and look up their interviews. Tupac, has stated that there is a difference between bitches and woman. He has stated he has love for women. 2Pac went again those that opposed him. He loved black people and you can tell he was truly sincere about it. Nas whole style changed once Pac came out , lets be real. Thug Life and Outlaws, then Nas on some BRAVEHEARTS shit .....C'mon man. Y'all give this nigga too much credit.

    • Anonymous

First of all , you say Nas contradicts himself. But , bro you are doing the same too. You are not being honest, you are just being confused. Another thing, every rapper contradicts himself, even Tupac. And everyone rates him because of Illmatic? getthafuckoutahere! Only a few people have actually listened to Illmatic which was outsold by even albums of lesser quality. Nastradamus which is weakest album is still a masterpiece.

    • Sooo

Im hating but I wished him the best?? Shut yo stupid illiterate ass up.........

    • land lord

PIMP OF THE YEAR I CAN SMACK YA FATHER,NOT ONLY WITH MY HAND BUT WITH A BLACK REVOLVER..

    • haha

That was such an insight peace of shit paragraph. Nigaas can't even hide the hate.

    • Anonymous

Agree with everything you said. Especially that people always act like Nas is the only dope or even the best lyricist, which is both far from the truth.

  • Shone Jones

And Nas wonders why half of New York doesn't trust his ass. This dude is simply not business minded.

  • Anonymous

Niggas hatin on Nas Sooooooooo Hard right now...smh.

  • Anonymous

Why would anybody start a record label in 2012?? Nobody buys shit anymore, Nas himself is gonna be lucky to go gold with his next album, no matter how good it is Wayne is the biggest star and it took his album forever to hit Double Platinum Only Musician period selling an actual big amount of records is fuckin Adele Be better off opening a footlocker

    • Anonymous

you act like every artist must do adele numbers in order for a record label to be successful. you sound very underinformed. theres more to a record label than 1st week numbers. and adele is the only one? lol just by your comment i can tell you are neither involved in the industry nor a musician. very shallow, amateurish comment.

  • Anonymous

NAS IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!! FUCK ALL THE HATERS

  • rex

lol looks like jay z really did win the war, jays got $450mil, while nas is some broke ass fool thats payin child support

    • Anonymous

Jay turned a small L, that only Nas stans see as the highlight of an underwhelming career, into thousand W's. Nas managed to fuck up the biggest oppurtunity he ever had by collecting colossal L's after he beat Jay with Ether.

  • jr88

its about damn time nas started useing his fame to make some money....i dont understand how nas talks about the strugle and how aweful africa is but he doesnt do anything about it....nas could have been a well rounded mc but he let his core fans bring him down...remember when he linked with puff?....people hated hardbody...i still support this move...hopefully he signs some great mcs

    • Anonymous

hey asshole..do your research!!! Proceeds from the Distant Relatives album (Nas & Damien Marley's) went towards Africa...get your facts straight!

    • Anonymous

Nas is the biggest hypocrite that ever walked on earth. Dude dumbed it down like Jay did over a decade ago, but his stans act like he didn't because he won't admit on a track. LMAO.

  • Anonymous

I have no idea why niggas are hatin on Tyga in these comments, yall niggas are faggots fo real lol. What does he have to do with it ? AND WHY ARE PEOPLE HATING ON NAS FOR TRYING START A LABEL ? stop being so fucking insecure.

  • Anonymous

im not saying im a big nas support he engages in a lot of fuckery... but everybody knows its the same nigga making these anti-nas posts over and over again. this nigga pressed. its kind of embarrassing

    • dentaldamboy

I agree, the Nas hate is out of control. I'm a big NAS fan just like you. Maybe the two of us can hang out drink some wine and listen to It Was Written one of these days. How does that sound?

  • Anonymous

Every Nas article attracts some commenting shit about how he doesn't have the money compared to this person or that person. Last I figured, I didn't listen to Nas or other artists based on their bank statements or tax bracket, I listen to music for the music. I know right? If you're that programmed to worship money like any forever broke idiot would, and only give respect to the next corporate-packaged, radio-friendly sell-out rapper just because they get the biggest play in the moment, then you're part of the cancer that has ruined hip-hop and given such big stature to labels like Young Money. Big rappers with their money and success isn't everything, that will come and go, but rappers with real credibility to their name and veterans like Common and Nas have discographies and classic albums that built hip-hop and will last forever. Unless you're one of these guys' accountants, I fail to see exactly what arouses the idiot part of your brain that programs you to circle jerk around the money someone claims they have. Good lord, go marry a rich man and let him take you shopping, you faggots.

    • THANK U

AMEN, money doesn't mean a thing to music, look what happened to MC Hammer and Young Buck, all were financially stable then started to go downhill along with their music.....

    • Anonymous

Shut the fuck up and stop acting like Nas didn't try to sellout several times, it's ridiculous.

  • KING OF QUEENS

Good news, he made Tyga and Wale look silly on that track so its only right he gains the privilege of using the name. Hopefully he'll sign niggas that are on his level so we can get hip hop back to where it needs to be...

    • GrimGenius

but just keep in mind that kings & queens was tyga's song on tyga's album regardless if nas had a killer voice

  • Anonymous

I believe it's the same 1 or 2 dudes leaving all these Nas hate comments on every Nas HHDX article. Get a life my dude.

    • Anonymous

Nas stans catching feelings over some unimportant comments again. You fucking fools are the reason it's so appealing for these trolls to shit on your hero, because they know it will work everytime. Nobody else reacts so defensive and emotional. Do you see other fans getting their panties up in a bunch the way Nas fans do when people hate on another rapper? I don't.

    • it is what it is

Yeah man they're clowns for real, As a Nas fan not everyone is going to agree or like him. It doesn't really make a difference how much these clowns post negative shit about him because it makes it easier to separate the idiots in society from the people with intelligence and common sense...

    • NONO

You are absolutely correct. I believe they are the same dudes putting Young Money comments up. It's sad that people don't get enough attention at home that they have to develop separate personalities on the internet. But what do you expect from kids?

  • lukescorner.net

Does he figure that the third time will be the charm?? Nas--one of the rappers ever,, but nothing close to being a good businessman

  • Anonymous

Anon - A million dollars isn't what it used to be. Factor in taxes, then what he owns in back taxes and child support, and suddenly a probably once very well off individual is scrambling for money. Now as far as people flocking... He recently backed out of a concert he was paid $100,000 for. That's low even for a veteran. And CD sales might put a few extra bucks in his pocket, but it's really no different than X claiming he made Def Jam $120 million, yet never saw most of it. Expectations come with the territory. On paper he may be worth X # of millions, but how much of that does he actually have, or can come up with in a pinch? I liked several of Nas's early albums, so really, I don't care about his financial problems. He's not a has been, but he's also not as relevant as he once was, and I think that surprises some people.

    • why?

For you not to care about his financial sitiuation you sure spent the majority of your post talking about it. By the way he was offered 300k advance for the concert he backed out of. People always talk but be missing major aspects of the information. Then you go on to speculate about his actual income...pathetic. Must be highly relevant today when he has beeen on over 14 features ranging from hip hop, r&b & alternative rock in the last 12 months. Completed 2 international world tours to sold out arenas in the past 2 years and won a NATIONAL EMMY AWARD for his ESPN documentary "Survival 1." Major endorsement gigs: Nike SB, Levi, TDK, musical scores in major motion pictures, spokes person for UNICEF/George Harris, donating the earnings from his original painting to Cancer Cente fo Children. The only thing that is surprusing to people us the amount of bullshit that people believe & the level of gossip that spread on the internet esoecially about an induvidual who wouldn't acknowledge their stupidity. THERE HAS YET TO BE ANY REAL PROOF PRESENTED ABOUT Nas finances but the gossipers have been talking for over two years while Nas cotinues to live his life. "Those who know don't talk...those who talk don't know a thing."-Nas

Bout time my nig got his label Da King of Queens.#escobarseason out of Lockout follow @dachildofhiphop

His first artist - Jungle. lmao

  • ummmmmmm

Nas is an idiot. So yo are now launching your third label with the other 2 not being successful? He's a dope artist, but he is the worst when it comes to business and career decisions. He can't even put together a good full body of work. What makes him think he can be responsible for the careers of others? Nas could EASILY still be a platinum artist if he was as savy as a Jay-Z, Eminem, etc.

    • ummmmmmm

U mad, Anelka? I already looked it up & found out. Thanks though.

    • Anelka

I usually watch while u make a fool of urself with ur diabolic comments on Nas. Anyways, here is a proof that Untitled exceeded gold years ago, Idiot. http://www.riaa.com/newsitem.php?id=8A56AE23-1B76-3D6A-12CC-A6CD99642E96

    • ummmmmm

^^^ 1st question is why you are on MY dick? Why do I have to defend myself to some "Anonymous" IGNORANT-typing nigga on a hip hop blog site? LOL. Why don't you post your opinion about the story instead of questioning someone why they have an opinion thats not the same as yours? Da fuck is wrong with people who think we all have to have the exact, identical opinion? Your life must be boring that you want to debate a nigga that you will never meet or knwo who I am. 2nd question is WHY U MAD, SON? I said nas isn't business savy as Jay or Em. Do you need proof? Jay = >400 Million in net worth and successful business ventures. Em = >120 Million in net worth. Nas? The highest I could find is $23 million, but he owes millions in back-taxes and also owes back child support. Do you know why? BECAUSE NAS ISN'T AS BUSINESS SAVY AS JAY AND EM. Why you mad at the facts? When Em's fans complained about the stupid accents on his voice and the direction of his music, Em listened. Then he went out and diversified his sound. Then he sold > 4 million records. Jay is taking direction from younger talent like Kanye and working with cats like Drake, J. cole. etc. The reason I compare Nas to Em and jay is because, talent wise, thats the caliber artist that he is. Success-wise, that's where he SHOULD be. But since he refusing to put the kind of album out that made him who he is (and listen to his fans) he's an idiot. Nas got offered the position of president at Atlantic several years ago, before any other rapper was even on that level. HE DECLINED. How did that work out for son? Anyways, I mean Im not even here to tear the homie down. Like i said Im a fan. But Im a critical fan because I know that Nas can be so much further along in his career. Some of yall just on my nuts asking me to explain myself but you don't want the facts. Really you just want to argue with someone on the internet. How lame is that though? STAY ANONYMOUS!

    • Anonymous

LOOK AT THIS FCUKBOI THINKIN' HE WON 'CAUSE OF MERE RESPONSES. WE'RE RESPONDIN' TO UR FCUKERY CLOWN. CAN U PROVE U BETTA 2 OFFER CRITICAL THINKIN'? HO' THE HEADLINE SAYS HE CRACKIN' OPEN A NEW BUSINESS VENTURE, U SAID HE AN IDIOT. SHOW AND PROVE HOW THAT'S IDIOCY. U COMPARED HIS MOVES ACCORDING TO JAY & EM. KNOW WHAT? JAY AND EM AIN'T SAID SH!T 'BOUT NAS, U DID. WHERE YOUR RESUME AT 2 COMPARE SINCE U TALKIN' SH!T? WHY U USIN' THE NEXT MAN'S CAREER TO JUSTIFY YOUR ARGUMENT? U AIN'T RESPOND TO THAT BUT U GIDDY U GETTIN' RESPONSES.

    • ummmmmmmm

I love the personal attacks. Because that means that YALL WACK NIGGAS will get all flustered over an arbitrary random person making comments in the comment section. So who is worse? Me being a Nas fan who is critical of his moves? Or YOU WACK NIGGAS being critical of MY moves? ROTFLMAO! YOU ALL LOST! No one said nas ain't great or a legend No one said nas ain't got classics Yall niggas are the ones with emotional responses, TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!

    • illy

nas has multiple classics you bitch..get yo face out ur mommas ass and learn how to comprehend music hoe

    • ETK

^lol this nigga jus tore you to shreds, fam

    • Nas Got You Mad...LOL

Damn Nas got you making comment after comment. Does it make you that upset that Nas is doing shit that you will only dream to do to the point that you are writing easy long responses about his life that you have no personal knowledge about? You are one of those overly emotional haters that precieve Nas to be lacking in areas so you go out of your way to believe gossip about him so that it gives you reason to fuel your hate towards him. Then when there is information that disputes your negative towards him you become infuriated with Nas to the point that you go on this rampage against him. I bet you that you are empty emotiionally & financially because there is no other reason for your tyrant behavior. Nas is very SAVY...he does not need to be anyone but the LEGEND that he is BLESSED/BORN to be.

Oh, you only wish you had his money lol Do you people have access to his bank records? Does Kelis give you Twitter updates on where he keeps his cash? Even if he does, so what? I'm sure Coolio has money. Does that make him relevant? About the only thing positive I can say about Nas is at least he isn't a crack fiend like X is. I'm sure he has plenty of albums left, but right now, even the most die hard fan must be wondering how a once prolofic rapper managed to muddle his career like this.

    • @ummm

Last I heard, NO I.D. been heavily involved in Nas' new album. No I.D. pretty much confirmed this in a Vibe magazine interview. So let's see what happens. I think it will be what the fans want if Nas' recent guest appearances and 'Nasty' is anything to go by. PS: The Jones Experience as far as I know was never a label.

    • Anonymous

Untitled sold more then 500k but under 1 milly. It will go plat eventually like his other albums.

    • ummmmmm

^^^ Untitled did not sell 500K. Post a link to the #'s patna. And when I speak of questionable, Im speaking about what you can see with your own eyes if you look around and see what the fans say. One only needs to look as far as THIS story and the comments to see that nas fans QUESTION his decisions. We have for a minute now, especially with the beats. As far as Distant Relatives, who cares about Tours? Any rap vet from the 90's such as a Nas or Busta or DMX or WuTang or Jay or LL can do well on tours. But we are talking about Nas MOVING FORWARD. The sales sucked on that Distant Relatives. They didnt even hit 300k. Check your facts and more importantly, INTERPRET THEM before you want to debate patna. Nas is losing relevance and it's because he won't give the core fans a good album. He keeps going left. At some point, you have to listen to your following.

    • Anonymous

Questionable to who though? You? Distant Relatives garnered a two times over world tour. Untitled is RIAA certified gold. Just because YOU didn't vibe with it doesn't mean it wasn't a feasible business transaction. If you TRULY have a business acumen you would see the reason why Def Jam didn't want "Lost Tapes 2". HE WAS THAT SUCCESSFUL OFF THE LAST TWO ALBUMS THAT THE GREEDY SUITS WANTED THE ENTREE, NOT THE APPETIZER.

    • ummmmmmm

Im a real nas fan and I agree. Fact is fact. And the fact of the matter is Nas's decisions on projects like (untitled, Distant Relatives) are questionable. He hit good traction with Hip Hop is Dead but then totally turned his back on the niggas that gave him that heat (except salam remi). No Kanye. No Dre. No LES and the dude Wyldfire that did Black Republican. No Premo. No Large pro. NO PREMO? (had to repeat that) No 9th Wonder yet? C'Mon Son! Why isnt NoID executive producing his album? That Common album was fresh. Is he in with Just Blaze? Then I read Kane Beats is working on Nas. Kane Beats? I mean come on. I saw an interview where Lenny S said he was trying to reach out to Nas and dude never hit him back. LOL. Lenny is very well respected a&r. He could get Nas some heat. Sha Money also works at Def Jam. Yall know he can get Nas some heat. The formula is out there for Nas to win but he takes the opposite path. And we all know what the opposite of winning is, right? He gon mess around and get dropped. Then he'll act like he asked for a release to do his own thing. smh.

    • Anonymous

What about his career? He's still in a space where he can make million dollar deals, his publishing is good, he still has people flocking to hear him rap live, on a CD or internet. I don't see this muddled career you speak of. What I do see is people have attached high expectations to sun and when he doesn't deliver what THEY envisioned him to do, they get upset and throw stones.

  • Anonymous

Oh great! Another fucking label by an inept rapper who can't manage his own career, let alone someone else's. Nas = moron

Nas brings out the worst in those that will never reach his level or understand his success. Nas keeps those Hating.Anyone.That.Ever.Reaches.Success madl It must suck for haters to want the worst for Nas but to see him continue to prevail. By the way the Jones Experipence was never a label it was a name he used to lauch his tour along with the touring company Guerilla Union that Nas happens to co-own.

This is Nas' 3rd label... He had "Ill Will" with Columbia who only released one Bravehearts album and signed Quan briefly... and "The Jones Experience" on Def Jam..which he was trying to get Papoose on. Royce The 5'9 was rumored, but it never worked out. I hope this time around he actually signs some people up. But I'm not expecting him to do that...Nas is generally in his own little world. lol It would be interesting to see his choices though...
