Fayetteville, North Carolina has a lot to be proud of after the impressive year J. Cole had in 2011. Now, the Roc Nation rapper’s hometown is throwing its Grammy nominated son a special celebration with the upcoming “Dreamville Weekend.” 

According to a recent press release courtesy of J. Cole Nation, Thursday March 1 will mark the kick off of the first annual “Dreamville Weekend” in Cole’s hometown. The three-day event is being held to honor the rapper and inspire Fayetteville’s youth to follow in his footsteps.

Sponsored in part by Hennessy V.S, “Dreamville Weekend” will boast a number of special events, including a visit by Cole to his alma mater Terry Sanford High School, a star-studded celebrity dinner and the official announcement of J. Cole Day in Fayetteville.

The weekend’s events will conclude on Saturday March 3 with a performance by Cole at the Fillmore Charlotte. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Cumberland Community Foundation.
