Though Mary J. Blige has garnered numerous awards and accolades for her music, she will not be adding an Oscar to her collection in 2012.
Mary J. Blige, along with Madonna and Elton John were among those expected to get a nomination for Best Original Song, but failed to land nominations.
The category normally has four or five nominations, but this year featured only two: “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets and “Real in Rio” from Rio.
Mary J. Blige took to Twitter to share her disappointment:
The Help was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.
