Drake Addresses Supposed Pusha T Diss Track

Drizzy tells Hot 97 what he thinks about Pusha T's possible subliminals on the record "Don't Fuck With Me."

In an interview with Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex on Thursday, Drake addressed possible jabs thrown at him by Pusha T on the recent freestyle, "Don't Fuck With Me (Dreams Money Can Buy)."

Pusha T spit over a Drake beat: "Rappers on their sophomores, actin' like they boss lords/ Fame such a funny thing for sure, when niggas start believing all them encores/ I'm just the one to send you off, bonjour."

Drake told Flex that others pointed out the song to him, but he wasn't sure if the shots were actually aimed at him. "I listened to it and I just couldn't pick it out. I couldn't pick out where I was supposed to be offended," he said. "Everyone was just like, 'Oh you got dissed in this song by Pusha T.' First of all, I've never really had any interaction with Pusha T so for him to diss me would be purely issues that he's having within himself."

He said he'd never had beef with Pusha in the past and actually has admiration for him. "We've met but we've been just always cordial with each other. I'm a fan of The Clipse. I say it in interviews. So I've never really had any issues with him. But it's a frustrating time for a lot of people right now, I get it. So if it was directed at me, just make it a little more direct next time. I'm up for whatever man. I didn't take offense to it though."

Drake is currently gearing up for the release of his sophomore album Take Care, scheduled for release on November 15.

Pusha T dissed Ambassador Rick on that Drake beat. That track has nothing to do with Fake, I mean Drake.

  • Anonymous

This is who Pusha-T is dissing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqEFnbiE73c

  • Gullie

down for whatever? are these the words from the same man that said "diss me you'll never hear a rsponse for it"

  • Anonymous

Damn, the amount of hate Drake receives is unreal. Let that dude live.

    • ImAnonymousTooBitch

Go choke to death on a snickers bar, bitch. Drake's fucking lame..Not to mention, him being fake as fuck. Who the hell has a shitty career on television, then switches it up to rap? That's why he's always rapping about girls, because he can't rap about anything else..Rapping about REAL street shit(Or real shit in general) would make him irrelevant because he hasn't experienced that kinda life. Anybody alive has the potential to body this kid. nuff said

  • Pusha

Let me set the record straight. When I write rhymes I do it not because I have any fans. No. Not because my brother can actually spit, unlike me. No. I do it so I don't have to sell (fantasize about selling) cocaine. You saw what happened to that boy. And how I stayed grinding? Didn't you? You fucking rats. If I wanted to diss Drake I wait until I at least had an album. But we all know since Cons left good music... ME not HIM, is the new tax write-off! So.... You kno...

  • Tré Coleman

You guys are clueless. He was dissing a local artist named Ambassador Rick & Rick fired back earlier this week. Stop spreading rumors if you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Tom Brady

Consequence would be a more likely target. I think he's still working on his second album also.

    • Cons

Hey new fan. I actually have loads of albums. Unfortunately they are all piss poor. Check out my new single.... You'll agree.

  • Anonymous

Pusha did not diss Drake. How can that line be a diss when Drake only dropped one album?

  • kingcobra

maybe im wrong...but i actually think drake has delivery...peeps just dont take him seriously cause of signing with ym,poking his lips out and doing some other gay shit...but if dude came through, built his own buzz, and signed with shady or any other good label..dude would be taken serious..I'd actually wanna hear the diss tracks between these 2..would be fucking interesting...

  • BlazeDatIshUp

He is clearly one those rappers who believes in their own hype, so now his head is too far up his ass. This fool would get ate if he tried to diss back. Plus if Malice chose to jump in with his bro it'd be a wrap... I'm just sick of rappers who think they are on some boss shit willing to 'die for the team', but then when someone actually does diss them they puss out and don't do shit. I don't know if the diss was actually directed at him or not, but if it was just respond and shut up. The track can refer to a lot of the wack rappers out now though because most are on their high horse and delusional in thinking they are the best or even in the top 50 for that matter.

You young cats do realize that straight flowing over a beat and directing a diss at somebody is two completely different things. Eminem makes it seem easy but it's not because for it to hurt you have to speak the TRUTH about someone's character, career, or personal life. Pusha was probably not dissing dude but he was stating a fact Drake is too big headed right now and that's mostly because of the company he keeps. Am I taking a shot at his lyrical ability? A little but not really, sounding like a recycled Wayne but bringing in new lyrical content can't really hurt you especially since people listen to anything that Wayne's name is attached too. But I can agree with Drake on one thing. Sneak dissing (if it was even a diss) is lame. If you are going to diss someone say their name at least. That's why I don't think it was a diss at all yet just a little frustration from Pusha with no real aim at anyone. Waka, Drake, and countless others have dropped one album and thought they were gods. But Drake seems to me more down to earth in person while his lyrics don't reflect that and that is expected. No one should call themselves 2nd best on their own album or in a feature. So all in all this is a bunch of crap spun up by the media to get people to pick sides. Both are good MC's however Pusha gets more respect because he can stand alone and still drop heat. Drake hasn't done that yet and he won't be able to until he steps out of Wayne's shadow by dropping out of YM/CMB

Already admitted that Push is his idol(google it folks da nigga bought a used mic Push used off ebay)so the battle is already won...but if it does come down to rhymes Push will vomit on da boi...eeeUUUUUggggHHHHH

  • drake or cole

i think the diss was sent at Drake and Cole , just causa that trey songs line..

    • stephan

That trey line was meant for a song that drake did with trey. J. Cole is not on his sophomore. Plus Pusha T mentioned sweaters, which Drake always rocks, even on the take care cover

  • Hip Hop

Now this is how you adress a subliminal diss,. Drake says be more direct if you got an issue and he down for whatever,. Drake can battle the nicca is whitty,

  • Armshouse

the same that Jay-Z takes shots on a song, Drake can do that too. It won't be on no goon shit or gangster type shit, just boss shit.

  • Anonymous

KEEP TESTIN THE KID AND SEE IF HE WON'T FLAME YOU UP ON THE TRACK, PEOPLE SLEEP ON DRAKE BECAUSE HE RAP ABOUT BITCHES.

  • Fuck That Nigga!!

    Finish him Pusha!!!

  • da1

"So if it was directed at me, just make it a little more direct next time" That was a G quote. It was out of character for drake to say, but I respect him more now. I never thougt Pusha T was that great a rapper anyways. It's not like dude can end drakes career. And I'm not even a Drake fan.

  • TRUTH

In my opinion I think the only reason why people assumed he was dissing drake was because it was on Drakes beat. That line could've applied to anybody. Alot of new rappers claim that got swag and boss this or boss that. It was just a competive line...rap is competive..Pusha T was just putting it out there that he will body these newcomers that think they hot. Thats all...everybody so sensitive these days.

  • Anonymous

That response was a huge L. Drake is intelligent.

  • NJ

If that line was directed at Drake then Pusha just got owned, props to the intelligent response from this dude.

  • samkelo

I'm a fan of both rappers, but above all I'm a true fan & member of this hip hop movement/culture...with thus said big up to Drake for the intelligent response....Hip means to know its a form of intelligence, to be Hip is to be update & relevant Hop is a form of movement, u can't just observe a hop, u gotta hop up & do it.......Hip Hop Culture is ETERNAL..........

  • Anonymous

Drake's up for whatever? I thought he was all about keeping it positive and staying away from that beef shit. This dude downplays the beefs where he knows he'd get his ass handed to him. Pusha T ain't a threat to nobody.

  • Lulz42O

Drake would get ate. He's not built for creating diss tracks.

  • Anonymous

''I've never really had any interaction with Pusha T so for him to diss me would be purely issues that he's having within himself." He straight ethered that bithc. Hahaha.

    Canadians ain't built for war

    • charles darwin

@ graby. canadians are fighting in Afghanistan as well ya dumb bitch.

    • Anonymous

Don't be silly...Canada doesn't even have an army.

    • GRABY

That's funny. Canada beat the U.S in the war of 1812. The U.S tried to take us over but they lost. End of story. Stupid Americans think they've won every war. They lost against Viet Nam as well. You're fighting a failed war in Afghanistan right now. LMAO - fools. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812

    • da1

haha lmao I don't think they are either.

  • true

Pusha T sucks, Clipse havent been hot in a minute, been awhile since Pharell gave em a hit. Drake is a better RAPPER and Pusha could never out RAP him, dont care how many times you talk about selling cocaine in the 90s...its 2011-2012, get over it SMGDH

  • LOL @ these comments

Its Called...: Rap...if u get in the booth and talk about being the best u better step up to the plate when ur challenged. Green Bay Packers didnt cancel the season cause the won the super bowl last year and didnt want to defend their title. Drake is at the top, he needs to step up if he wants to stay there. Pulling that BS jay-z 'i dont need to reply' stunt only works when... ur jay-z. Drake has a long way to go to prove his place in rap. He's had a good 2 years... Pusha T would rip him a new asshole, and u know this, no homo Posted2011-10-13T22:23:46-05:00 +++++++++++++++++++++++ I had to repost this!

  • Anonymous

Ain't the clispe was tryna get a respond from jay- z at one time and play them small back then now he sucking jay balls now

  • triPaud

I don't think Drake could have responded to this any better. well done. It would be a shame if Pusha would diss Drake after its been established that he's a huge clipse fan. AND after Pusha had to deal w/ Cons' bullshit. Id be surprised if it actually was a Drake diss...and not a Cons diss. Cons is on his second too...

  • SutterKane

Drake actually sounding like he has some balls, I respect that, not a fan at all but he basically said "If you gotta a problem say it out loud and stop being a bitch about it" to Pusha, thats whats up, cant get mad at dude standing up for himself This reminds me of the scene in Goodfellas where Joe Pesci is raggin on that kid for a minute, shoots him in the foot, starts raggin on him again and the kid finally stands up for himself and says "Why dont you just go fuck yourself"....... ...... Of course after that lil spurt of manhood the kid got killed but whatever, Dont take no shit off nobody Pusha T >>>>>> Drake, just for the record

  • Jg

someone needs to take drizzy of his high horse!

  • thought zebra

He did the interview in that exact outfit in the pic.

  • Gunitinthehouse

LMAO! All that matters is that Take Care is his last Young Money album and he'll be leaving the Young Hunnies label. I'll be laughing my ass to death after that, bc all these young hunnie dickriders will have no shit to talk about after the fact. Gunit fanbase>>>>>Young Hunnies fan base. Our general will slap the shit out of your rastafarian starvin marvin looking tweaker.

pusha t talking about sophomore albums, when he doesn't even have a freshman solo album. the last hit his group had was on "What Happened to that Boy" with birdman. pusha is 34 years old and trying to beef with 24 year old Drake. Old Head needs to sit down somewheres and leave kids alone.

    • Graby

Yeah man ... I'm a Clipse fan, but old ass Pusha needs to chill. He's trying to get attention/publicity cuz his album drops in a month or so. He wants to gain attention. It's lame to diss ppl that you don't know. Especially an artist like Drake who's publicly stated that he's a fan. Act your age Pusha. Focus on making some classic joints.

  • thought dog

He was anti battling last year but hes up for whatever now?

  • Anonymous

"I've never really had any interaction with Pusha T so for him to diss me would be purely issues that he's having within himself." hjahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhahahaha owned. He made pusha just look like a bitch with that quote
