Twista Working on Ninth Solo LP "The Dark Horse"

Twista reveals that he's hard at work on his next album, and that he may be looking to bring DJ Premier in on the action.

It hasn't even been a full year since Twista dropped his latest album, 2010's The Perfect Storm, and already the Chicago emcee is hard at work on his next project. News broke earlier today that Twista is now currently working on his new album, titled The Dark Horse.

According to Fake Shore Drive, Twista is currently in Los Angeles working on The Dark Horse with frequent collaborator and fellow Chi-Town Hip Hop alum the Legendary Traxster. A picture of the two working in the studio on the project can be seen above.

Twista also took to Twitter to confirm the news that he has begun work on ninth solo album. He even hinted that he may be looking to work with the legendary DJ Premier on the project.

The Dark Horse will mark Twista's third release in three years. There is no word as to when the album will drop or on what label it will be released. DX will keep you updated as more information comes to light.

twista's problem is he usually has 7 or a8 great tracks on a CD, and the rest fill. Catagory F%/Perfect Stormm could have been on ealbum and would have been a killer

Twista used to be one of my favorites. I honest to god haven't picked up an album from him since Legit Ballers. By the time he actually hit success with Kamikaze I was already done with him for the most part.

As for Premo, he can make any album seem a lil better than it is (or already is), ie Trill O.G., The R.E.D. Album, The Darkside vol. 1, R.E.K.S., Politics As Usual, Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic, etc. With Twista getting Premo on there will be great. As for Twista, I want only three producers: The Legendary Traxsters, DJ Premier & No I.D. maybe Ye too but I'm not holding my breath, I'm hoping Twista will go back to his roots on this like Fat Joe did (or at least go as hard as he did on The Heat) I wanna here Adrenaline Rush Twista, not Category F5 or The Perfect Storm Twista.

As a ChiTown area native, I feel the exact same way. He can still bring it, but if combines the effort from AR, the Heat song with a bit of Kamikaze to appeal to radio outside of Chicago, I'll spend my money on it
