Philadelphia veteran and friend of Will Smith Charlie Mack is preparing to host his 8th Annual Charlie Mack Celebrity Weekend. Titled the “Charlie Mack Party 4 Peace Celebrity Weekend,” the charity event is set to pop off this July 22 through July 24.

The event, which began in 1990 as a charity basketball game, will help raise money for the Charlie Mack Cares Center, a nonprofit organization that aids Philadelphian children. Set to appear at the event are a host of A-list players, including Transformers star Tyrese Gibson, comedian Kevin Hart, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, Sean Garrett, The Expendables star Terry Crews and many more.

Mack spoke about the urban plight his city faces, saying, “As a native Philadelphian, I wanted to provide young people with a vehicle to interact with today’s entertainment industry actors/actresses and professional athletes. It was after the loss of my two brothers that I came to know my true calling in life, and recognized an even greater need to create a fundraising vehicle to assist anti-violence organizations.”
