The original Chain Saw's a masterpiece and shouldn't be tampered with. Unfortunately, the movie studios are run by avaricious accountants who place a greater importance on commerce over art. This affects the quality of the material released, especially horror flicks, as they often rely on rehashing well-loved back catalogue titles. Last year's I Spit On Your Grave was an improvement on the original, mainly because the '70s version is a grind house exploitation flick and the new one is more professional. Chain Saw can't be improved, but the new one should explore the Ed Gein back story, which was only touched upon schematically in Hooper's classic.
