9th Wonder spoke with Karmaloop TV on the state of female rappers in Hip Hop, explaining that in a male-dominated game, women have equal footing. During an interview with his Jamla Records artist Rapsody, the Grammy-winning producer explained that ladies who can rock the mic are as present as ever.

“A lot of people think of Hip Hop, the Lauryn Hill-esque female MCs is missing from the game. I don’t think it’s necessarily that. I don’t think it’s a situation where female MCs or female rappers are missing from the game. We have female rappers,” he said, noting Nicki Minaj, Jean Grae, Rah Digga and more. “We have MCs in the game. I think what’s missing is it’s been a while since somebody has shown us what’s beautiful about Hip Hop.”
