Tupac Shakur Biopic Producers Acquire Rights For Black Mafia Family Movie

L.T. Hutton and David Robinson, producers of Tupac Shakur’s upcoming biopic, have acquired the rights for the B.M.F. movie, which will focus on Black Mafia Family leader Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and the drug trafficking organization’s history.

According to HipHopWired, the producers are currently pulling the script together. “We have a passion and enthusiasm in bringing Big Meech’s story to the big screen,” said Hutton. “We’re working closely with Meech and Tammy Cowins to make sure every aspect of the story is done correctly.”

The story will focus on the Detroit-based drug operation that later expanded across the United States in the ‘90s. The Black Mafia Family recently got a shout-out from Rick Ross, who named his single “B.M.F.” after the organization.

NY cornballs would did not even come to California to film their little La La video. That would be an interesting movie about David Mack(Biggie's killer) and Orlando Anderson (Tupac's killer). Seems like the only thing west coast homos have done is destruction.

i understand your trying to say make positive movies about positive people. Why Sean Bell?? he didn't do anything out of the ordinary, he wasn't a Dr MLK like, he wasn't a Malcolm X type. He was a mediocre baseball player in high school and was unemployed at the time of his death. I hope you weren't just using his name just because he was black.

I agree on you with this one. Thats why I'd rather they not make a film of BMF unless it is done right. But you have to admit they were and are different then all the regular crap we see and hear about. They actually weren't really violent and they gave back too. They made millions, and they didnt do it through fear, like other niggas, so my hats off to them. Another reason why I wanted white folks to make this movie, is cause at least then, guys that don't agree with this could reject it and blame it on white people. But since it's our own kind making these type of movies, a lot of people will just tell you FUBU. For us by us.

I never said BMF is no name, I said the black guys writing the screenplay for the movie are. Instead of getting some white guys that helped write REAL gansgter movies, they go to some no name black producers/writers wo couldn't make a good movie to save their lives. Damn Shame. Why the Fuck would Big Meech let some no name black producers/writers adapt his life's work to put in the big screen? Black writers suck, period. Look at all the garbage, like ATL, Notorious, Belly, etc. These no names are gonna make BMF's story play on reruns 4 years from now on BET. At least get the guys that wrote the screenplay for Boyz in da Hood.

The BMF story is huge, buddy. They were high level narcotics traffickers, with high level connections with the Mexican Mafia. They united different street gangs (crips, bloods) and united different states (Ga,Mi,Ca,etc.) On top of all that the Homie Big Meech was in the game and stayed in the game from 1985-2007 ish and made hundreds of millions. Ya, I think white producers would give a fuck about the story. And if they didnt at least they won't destroy his legacy, by making a piece of shit movie that gets played on BET every friday at 8.
