B.o.B Begins Recording His Sophomore Album

The Decatur, Georgia native speaks on how he's in his "groove" for his second LP.

Currently gearing up to hit the road on Rihanna’s “LOUD” summer tour, B.o.B is beginning work on his sophomore album. The “Airplanes”  rapper recently spoke on how he is “in my groove” as he prepares to record the follow-up to last year’s “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray.

"I'm really excited about this one,” he told MLive.com. “You're always excited about every project. But I really feel like I'm in my groove with this one. I'm more aware of myself as an instrument, as a sound. It's more intentful."

As for when he plans on releasing the LP, he is unsure, though he’s taking a backseat approach on how he’d like his year to unfold. “I don't know yet," he said. "I always have a blueprint in my head for how things should be, but they never pan out. I've become more observant and I just watch."

Producer Jim Jonsin previously spoke on the sophomore album, revealing that Bobby Ray isn’t collaborating as much. “I don’t think he’s doing as many features,” he said. “I think most of his singles will be him and he just wants the fans to hear a lot more of him on this album. It’s gonna be incredible.”

He's inconsistent.. If he wants to be great, he has to drop consistently in this game.

i really wouldn't mind if he made another commercial album. it's like this: make played out pop music on albums to get your money to continue providing real good music for FREE on mixtapes

AT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS KID WAS A NO TALENT FAGGOT. BUT THEN I HEARD HIM ACTUALLY KILL A RECORD THAT WASNT HIS, AND REALIZED THE KID CAN RAP. SO HE'S NOT A NO TALENT FAGGOT. HE'S A SELLOUT FAGGOT. MAYBE THE BIGGEST COON IN THE BUSINESS. HE WILL PERFECT HIS BRAND OF CORNY MUSIC FOR THE STUDIO HEADS AND THE GOOFY WHITES BECAUSE THATS WHAT B.O.B. DOES. IF YOU'RE A BIG BOBBY RAY FAN, YOU PROBABLY ROCK POOKAH SHELLS AND OPEN TOE SANDALS ON THE STREET.

This guy is probably the lamest nigga in the rap game along with Drake and Lupe Fiasco. That's why I hate that faggot Kanye West. His emo nerd swag is all bullshit. Fuck him. Nerd rappers like Kanye, Lupe, Fort Minor, Wiz, Cudi, Drake, B.o.B, Wale, J. Cole, Big Sean, Mac Miller and Asher Roth are all garbage rappers only liked women and sensitive males. Listen to real HIP HOP like Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Waka Flocka, Soulja Boy, Lil B, Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, Christian Beadles, MattyBRaps, Patrice "Fat Usher" Wilson, Devin Fox, and the Jonas Brothers. It's Gucci Time!

B.o.B. is talented but this album better not be so commercial like The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Instead of collaborating with Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams. Do songs with Big Boi and Bun B. I expect it to be good though. Could be very hit or miss.

I wouldn't be upset as long as only three tracks are like that be NO song like magic.

    • ...

Songs with Big Boi and Bun B can and should be on the album, but Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams are what helped dude get platinum plaques. If he were to do it again, I wouldn't be upset as long as some of that No Genre flow makes it to the album.

everyone's always hatin' on b.o.b 'cause he makes "pop" music b.o.b made no genre and that shit went harder as a free mixtape than anything being sold at the time dude's got versatility, just 'cause he makes a few radio friendly tracks to get airplay doesn't mean he's not an artist and maybe it's just where i live, but it seems like to get on the radio if you're not a pop artist with a stupid ass dubstep remix your shit won't see play

  • Meh

It could just be me, but a lot of recent articles on this website have been poorly written. Also, Adventures of Bobby Ray wasn't bad if you you stay ignorant to his mixtapes.

yeah they need to use spell check more often and proofread they're shyt.. anyway this isn't news to me, i stopped listening to B.O.B after he disappointing me by selling his soul for the eye on the dollar bill. What happened to "generation lost" and "fuck the money"?

    • Mike Meraz

they need to you use spell check and proofread they're shit too. anyway...this album is gonna be as bad as his last, well I guess it's good music, just POP as shyt.
