Ghostface Killah is definitely in the running for G.O.A.T. when it comes to catch-phrases (he ain’t half bad on the mic, either). And as regular readers may know, we over at DX revere the Wizard of Poetry for the arsenal of one-liners and hilarious sayings he’s come up with over the years. So when it came to our attention that the folks at HudsonHongo.com found a way to Ghostface the Internets, we laced up our blue and cream Wally’s, threw on our gold eagle braclets and proceded to give the ‘Net the Pretty Toney treatment, namsayin’.
As the homie Robbie Ettleson of Unkut proved last year, worthwhile remixes are hard to come by – especially when all it takes to remix a track these days is a J. Last but not least, it’s been fifteen years since Slug of Atmosphere launched his storied indie Hip Hop imprint Rhymesayers Entertainment. Armed with illustrious acts like Brother Ali, MF DOOM, Blueprint, Soul Position and, of course, Atmosphere, it’s hard to imagine a world with the Minnesota-based label. So when Complex sat down with Slug to discuss fifteen years of music, we at DX jumped at the chance to take a trip down memory lane.
