Rick Ross was arrested in Shreveport, LA on Friday night (March 25) for marijuana possession.

TMZ reports that he was arrested when police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the rapper’s hotel room. Upon investigation, police say they spotted approximately a gram of the substance in plain view.

The Miami emcee has already been released on a misdemeanor summons.

Rick Ross was reportedly in town to perform at a nightclub.

Recently, Ross’ Maybach Music Group made a series of high-profile signings, acquirings the rapping services of Wale, Meek Mill and Pill. Additionally, the imprint moved distribution from Def Jam to Warner recently.
