An official release date for the highly anticipated Tha Carter IV has been a long time coming for Lil Wayne fans. Last year, Young Money member Mack Maine assured that the album would hit stores the day of Weezy’s release from jail. That, of course, was not the case. However Lil Wayne told MTV News that the album is actually complete and ready to distribute.
“Tha Carter IV is done,” he said. “All they need to do is tell Tez [Wayne’s manager] to stop sitting on it. Tez, stop sitting on Tha Carter IV and put the album out,” he called out jokingly to his manager.
“May 16, believe that,” Wayne confirmed. “It can come out tomorrow ’cause I’m so finished…Tha Carter IV will be dropping May 16. If you’re not doing anything, do me.”
