Over the past few years, emcee Wax has been building up a buzz with thousands of YouTube freestyles and rhymes. Now, the Maryland-born rapper is getting his chance to shine as news broke today that he has signed to Def Jam.

According to his press release, Wax signed a joint venture deal with Def Jam, giving him the opportunity to release his upcoming debut LP through the legendary label and his own Scrublife imprint. 

Although Wax’s debut has yet to receive an official release date, fans won’t have to wait long to hear music from the budding artist. Wax also released his debut DJ Skee-hosted mixtape Scrublife earlier today, which boast production from the likes of EOM, Jim Jonsin, Nobody Famous and others.
