Two of the bigger boutique labels in Hip Hop right now are Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records and Gucci Mane’s Brick Squad. With the success of artists including Drake, Waka Flocka and Nicki Minaj, the two labels – who also function as groups, a collaboration mixtape is reportedly underway.
In a new interview with Mikey T The Movie Star, Harlem, New York’s Jae Millz explained that a mutual respect led to music-making. “[Young Money and Brick Squad] work so much [together], we’re so cool with each other, a mixtape wouldn’t hurt; it’s not gonna take that much. That shit would be done in like no time. At the end of the day, it’s some shit for the fans.”
Nicki Minaj appeared on Gucci Mane’s 2010 album, The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted, while Gudda Gudda appeared on Waka Flocka Flame’s 2010 album, Flockaveli.
