Yesterday, Virginia Pop/R&B singer Chris and attorney asked a Los Angeles court judge to remove the restraining order against former girlfriend Rihanna during a progress report. The singer, who was arrested for brutally beating Rihanna in February, 2009, was seeking the order lifted because it reportedly prevented him from attending award shows, parties and public events, according to RadarOnline.com.

While Judge Patricia Schnegg did not remove the order, Chris Brown and legal staff are presently waiting Rihanna’s attorneys to modify the order from “stay away” to “do not annoy.”

Despite three Grammy Award nominations, Chris Brown is not expected to attend next month’s premiere event.
