After Queensland, Australia’s recent flooding, two New York Hip Hop veterans are stepping in to provide relief through concerts. Queens’ Pharoahe Monch, who is expected to release his first album with Duck Down Records, W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) later this year along with Jean Grae, who is planning several 2011 releases, will headline at tomorrow night’s event at Queensland’s Corner Hotel.
With the pair will be deejays M-Phazes and DJ Boogie Blind. Proceeds from that show and a January 19 show, will go to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
(January 13)
UPDATE: According to website Take40.com, Pharoahe Monch and Jean Grae participated in a fundraiser that helped raise over $20,000 for flood victims.
