Despite reports that BET’s Rap City would be returning to programming this week, the show remains cancelled. While Canadian network MuchMusic features a program of the same name, which will be airing this year, the seminal Black Entertainment Television afternoon music program will not.

As social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook reacted to the confusing announcement, one of the show’s most memorable hosts, Big Tigger, revealed to fans that he had attempted to resurrect the 20-year Hip Hop show.
