Charles Hamilton was referred to a psychiatric clinic yesterday (January 4) after spending a month in Cleveland county jail for a felony assault charge.

According to XXLMag.com, a clerk for the Cayuga County Court of Common Pleas confirmed that the rapper will be evaluated by the court’s psychiatric facility to see if he is competent to stand trial.

The next court date depends upon the results of the report, which will not come for a few weeks.

Hamilton was arrested for assaulting two police officers and resisting arrest in December.

Additionally, Hamilton was treated in a mental hospital in 2010, and checked out in August. During a UStream broadcast, he was seen in a wheelchair due to what he described as sharp pains.
