Little Brother's Phonte & 9th Wonder Reconcile, Beef "Squashed"

One of Rap's best producers and best emcees reunite four years to the month and reportedly mend their rift as friends and men.

In January of 2007, North Carolina Hip Hop trio Little Brother hurt the hearts of fans when the group announced that producer/deejay 9th Wonder would be parting ways with emcees Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh. Having released two albums in the years since, January of 2011 saw a reconciliation between the group's unofficial leader and producer for two heralded albums.

Early this morning (January 2), Phonte revealed, via Twitter, that he and 9th are back on speaking terms, and provided fans with a picture.

Took 4 years, 2 plates of food and 6 hrs. of convo, but we squashed it. #brotherhood than a minute ago via TweetDeck

I appreciate the love for me and @9thwondermusic, but us mending our rift had nothing to do with music and everything to do with manhood.less than a minute ago via web

The good news came along with a caviat, the the two men are focusing on rebuilding their friendship before a musical reunion.

We may collaborate in time, but this is not the start of a LB reunion as neither of us have interest in doing so. Sorry to disappoint.less than a minute ago via web

9th Wonder retweeted several of Phonte's statements to fans, but has yet to comment publicly. Rapper Big Pooh has also not commented publicly.

This mending comes after a 2010 year that saw the two state differences on Twitter and in viral video in April, over their last days working together. The last official collaboration between the parties was 2007's "Breakin' My Heart" on Little Brother's Get Back album.

In 2010, Little Brother released what was previously billed as their final album in Leftback. Additionally, Phonte and Nicolay (as Foreign Exchange) released Authenticity. 9th Wonder released Fornever with Murs, Death of A Pop Star with David Banner, and several compilations including 9th's Opus: It's A Wonderful World Music Group, Vol. 1.

I'm glad these two finally buried the hachette and got back together and sorry but I believe this has something to do with the recent reconciliation of Pete Rock and CL Smooth getting back together...I mean come on it's so damn obvious because it wouldn't have took this long for these two to finally put the bullshit to rest...You could say it took 9th witnessing Pete and CL squash shit and do their thing once again...Plus we all know how tight Pete and 9th are on the low...All and all I'm glad all of this shit is finally get straightened out for the better like it's suppose to be...Now last but not least all we have left is A Tribe Called Quest and then we will see the revival of Hip-Hop finally get up off it's death bed and come back to kill that bullshit garbage that's been damaging the music industry for the past few years...If Pete Rock and CL Smooth are back then you can best believe that Little Brother will be back with a new album because just like Pete Rock and CL the music catalog is not finished for these guys...They all owe us at least 2 more albums...

Man these niggaz is straight trash along with Drake the Fake. These emo rappers are why hip hop is dead. Real Hip Hop is coming back though. Gucci Mane been rapping since the 1920s man. Gucci Mane invented Hip Hop. All these wack niggaz make noises from kids music. Once Gucci retires, he'll pass the mic to Justin Bieber aka Shawty Mane and he'll run the rap game like no other. It's Gucci Time!
