This evening, Chicago, Illinois emcee Rhymefest will further fund his campaign to become the city’s 20th Ward Alderman through a concert. The former J Records artist will bring Parliament and Funkadelic’s George Clinton to Lincoln Hall. Seats remain available, ranging between $50 general admission to $175 VIP balcony tickets, according to Chicagoist.com.

In other news, HipHopDX has learned that Los Angeles, California emcee Aceyalone is at work on his eleventh solo album, The Promise. The Freestyle Fellowship leader will reportedly release the album next March on Decon Records, where he released Aceyalone & The Lonely Ones last year.

Lastly, an assortment of the 1980s and 1990s Rap acts will bring in the new year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Acts including Audio Two, Chubb Rock, Digable Planets’ Doodlebug, Dana Dane, Joeski Love and DJ Wiz will perform at the Isada Art Gallery. The concert will be headlined by Kindred The Family Soul.
