Big Meech Endorses Mara Shalhoup's "BMF" Book, Says It Educated Him

The incarcerated former drug kingpin tells AllHipHop that the book "BMF: The Rise and Fall of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family" is "good," and how it enlightened him.

In an October interview with HipHopDX.com, author Mara Shalhoup spoke about her book, BMF: The Rise and Fall of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family. At the time, the author was asked what she presumed the incarcerated former cocaine distributing kingpin thought of her profile. "From all I can tell, I think he's happy with the way he was portrayed in the book, and thinks it's an accurate representation," said Shalhoup.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop.com, Big Meech had a chance to affirm that. The man born Demetrius Flenory told the site, "The book is good. It enlightened me on some things, because I didn't know what was happening with the other guys," Big Meech said. "We weren't really with each other during the years of the investigation. A lot of the charges they charged me with are bogus charges."

Earlier this year, the Atlanta-based former BMF leader was paid tribute in Rick Ross' hit "Blowin' Money Fast (BMF)," from his gold-certified album, Teflon Don.
