Although a lot of talk has gone towards Miami, Florida’s Rick Ross signing Wale to Maybach Music, another Virginia artist has been confirmed this week to have joined the rapper’s fledgling imprint. Audra The Rapper announced her signing with the Def Jam subsidiary this week, joined by Detroit, Michigan emcee Big Sean for a Sweet N Sour video vignette. “As of today: December 15, 2010, I’m officially on the roster of Maybach Music,” said an elated Audra.

Asked later about the significance of the signing, the emcee said. “I can’t explain this; I don’t think I’ve felt this feeling. It’s anxiety – like I’m anxious for the future, but it’s also a feeling of accomplishment.” Noting her years on the grind, Audra added, “It just feels good that somebody else was recognizing my grind.”

Maybach Music presently includes Rick Ross and Triple C’s.
