Pete Rock is regarded as one of the greatest producers of all-time, he’s worked with nearly every every legend; from Run-D.M.C. to Nas. But the Chocolate Boy Wonder had never produced for Jay-Z, something he’s wanted to do for some time.

Pete can now mark that off the list, as this weeks G.O.O.D. Friday track “The Joy” featured himself on the boards and Jay-Z on the mic. The critically-acclaimed song provides a good example to fans unfamiliar with the legendary producer how he earned the nickname Soul Brother.

Yesterday the Mount Vernon native took to Twitter to express his excitement for being a part of the song, and to say thanks.
