This past week, one member of the legendary group The Cold Crush Brothers passed, Eric Hoskins aka Money Ray. The news traveled fast as all media were informed to:

“Please inform the Hip-Hop community by sharing this with them. We received sad news this morning from both Easy AD and DJ Charlie Chase that fellow Cold Crush brother, Money Ray (Eric Hoskins), had passed away last night and the young age of 38. His recent diagnosis of cancer, just 5 weeks ago, took everyone by surprise as he was the youngest and considered to be the healthiest member of the crew.”

His untimely death, creates a void where he will be missed by not only the Hip Hop community but more so by his Cold Crush Brothers, (some of which were recently at the Wild Style Anniversary) (DJ Tony Tone, DJ Charlie Chase, Grandmaster Caz, Kay Gee, Easy AD, and JDL).One member, Charlie Chase emphasized by stating, “Ray was always eating right and working out.” Money Ray has been down with the Cold Crush since 1980. Hoskins, once a dancer for the Cold Crush Brothers, both he and his dance partner, Henry, were collectively known as the “Smurf Twins.” When JDL wasn’t able to make it to a performance, the Cold Crush Brothers asked Money Ray to step in. Ray knowing all the songs and routines, from that day forward emceed with the crew.
