A strong contender for hottest show of New Year’s Eve may have just been booked, as Jay-Z and Coldplay will welcome the new year at the opening of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The New York Post reports that the rapper and rock group will perform separately, then together.
“Organizers have spent millions securing the acts. The word is that Beyonce is now looking for a Vegas New Year’s gig so she will be in town with Jay,” explained a source.

Jay-Z has collaborated with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin on several occasions, notably on 2006’s Kingdom Comeon the track “Beach Chair.”
