Though Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean stated yesterday that he is in hiding due to email death threats over his bid for Haitian Presidency, the Haiti-native may be facing some other issues.

Electoral authorities in Haiti were set to announce the Presidential candidates today, but had to place the announcements on hold in order to contemplate the eligibility of Wyclef’s bid. Despite the Yele Haiti founder’s assertion that he has the mandatory five-year residency requirement to run for President, authorities are claiming that he has not maintained five consecutive years of citizenship.

This Friday (August 20), the CEP will make their final decision, and will announce their ruling concerning the legality of ‘Clef’s run.
