Ron Browz To Release Digital LP, "Etherlibrium"

The producer of "Ether" goes for dolo with a July release.

Producer Ron Browz, who has masterminded tracks for the likes of Nas, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Jim Jones, Fat Joe, Lloyd Banks, Snoop Dogg and many more, is taking a step into the limelight with an album of his own.

July 20 will see the release of Etherlibrium, which will feature guest spots from Maino, Red Cafe, J.R. Writer, as well as others. Nearly every song on the album will have an accompanying video, released over the course of the summer.

The name of the album is a play on the song title "Ether," the legendary diss track Browz produced for Nas in 2001. Since then, he has produced hits like his solo outing "Pop Champagne," in addition to Busta Rhymes' "Arab Money."

Browz landed a solo deal at Universal Republic when "Pop Champagne" was peaking, but the album was never released. However, Etherlibrium will see the light of day as a now-independent Ron Browz will release the project exclusively on iTunes on July 20.

“I feel like I owe the fans this iTunes release collectively, being that I didn’t get to put out the album as planned,” said Ron. “All the fans got from me was select singles, so this is more street records than radio records. Before Jay-Z’s 'D.O.A.' even came out, I already had records without the auto-tune. People who really follow what I’ve been doing know that I was just experimenting and having fun. I made it creative and made it work.”

The release of Etherlibrium will coincide with the launch of BrowzWithMe.com, which will feature new videos and songs from all spectrums of popular music, and Browz will utilize the platform to unveil his own exclusive material to readers.

“I want people to really get to know me. I don’t believe in doing just one kind of music, and I’m just doing whatever I feel. I put my heart into this Etherlibrium project - it’s more lyrical than stuff people have really heard from me. It’s well put together, and I don’t think I was meant to be limited to releasing singles… I was meant to put whole projects together.”

This has been a problem in hip hop for years now: Producers who want to be as big (or bigger) as the people they produce for. Let your beats speak for you, not you jumping on songs and adlibbing, or even trying to rap yourself. There is a really short list of people who produce and can actually rap. Dudes like Browz, Timbaland, and Diddy are not on that list. To quote the great CL Smooth, "Shut up and make my beats, faggot!"

This might be the most pathetic nigga in Hip-Hop. He might as well use all the proceeds of this weak ass album to pay off Nas's debts, because he's making no secret of the fact that Nas is totally responsible for his career. His beats are weak, and his hooks are awful. He's the only nigga that still can't sing even with autotune. I've seen no signs of talent whatsover from this guy. I hope Nas speaks on this nigga and ends his career as fast as he birthed it. You know he talks to anybody that'll listen about that Ether track. "Yeah son, in a way, it's like, I'm responsible for bringing back Nas's career, so, it's almost like, like, like I saved Hip-Hop son, if you look at it, I'm the savior of Hip-Hop."

  • FUCK!!!!

Fuck. The horror returns. I was hoping that this dude died or some shit.

  • Megan fox lover

This guy bases his whole persona off of 1 track he did for Nas 9 yrs ago? Lets be honest, everyone remembers 'Ether' coz of the unforgettably scathing lyrics, NOTthe beat. Nas couldav released that shit accapella it wouldnt made a difference. As a producer, Ron browz is a joke. 'pop champange', 'jumpin out the window', etc c'mon son ive made better beats in Fruity Loops (email me if u want some)

  • rapskilz

Damn....Ron, you proly never be a star coz you don't strive to achieve or become better..... you stuck on stupid. You made a beat that a famous rapper dissed another famous rapper on 10 years ago and still today thats how you introduce yourself.... "Hi, My name is Ron Browz...... I produced Ether."..... It was just a beat.... with Nas' passion and venom, ether on any other beat would have been ether......

  • dryANALblaster

Winner of the "who gives a shit" award. Congratulations.

  • sh.

lol, as if anybody admires ether for its beat. the only reason "ether" is the track it is today is because nas went IN on it, its production is pretty weak

  • Ether Q

As a producer he's nice but not really feeling his songs. Want some hot hip hop Ether. Check out Ether Q!

  • Up North

This dude is still trying to ride the dick of "Ether". Not one track on his whole shit will even come close. I lost all respect when I heard "Jumping Out The Window". Let us get that Black Milk and Scram Jones joint coming out. Browz can shelve it for the rest of his career and no one would notice.

    • Up North

I can't agree with you on that. Ether was some EPIC, BIBLICAL shit, but that was damn near 10 years ago. Browz hasn't done DICK since then, which is why he's still trying to ride Ether's wave.

    • G'

Really though...and Ether wasn't even that hot. Only reason it was hyped was cuz Nas came at Jigga.

  • Faithman Jr.

HOLYY FUCK MANNN LIKE IM SITTIN HERE WONDERING LIKE "DAMMNNN HOW MANY TIMES IS THIS MAN GONNA MILK OFF OF SOMETHING HE PLAYEDDD A SMALL, NO MINISCULE, NO ACTUALLY FUCK IT HE DID SHIT" LIKE SHIT NIGGA HERRES THE FACTS: YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO PHYSICALLY WITH THE JAY-Z VS NAS BEEF YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LYRICS BEING WRITTEN FOR ETHER YOU DIDNT EVEN KNOW THAT THE SONG WOULD BE CALLED ETHER, CAUASE I KNOW PRODUCERS NAME THEIR BEATS BEFORE THEY SELL THEM. YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORDS BEING SPOKEN OUT OF NAS'S MOUTH AND YOU FOR SURE AS HELL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COLLAPSE OF JAY-Z (AT THE TIME) BY THAT SONG, OR THE RESPONSE OF PUBLIC OPINION FROM THAT SONG. NO, ALL YOU DID MR. BROWZ WAS PRODUCE, WHICH I MEAN PROPS TO YOU NIGGA, GETTIN YOURS AND SHIT, BUT YOU ARE IN NO WAY ETHER BOY AND WITH ALL THE MONEY NAS IS LOSING TO KELIS THAT NIGGA OUGHTA BE SUING YOU FOR JACKIN HIS SHIT.
