While Eminem has been in the studio recording the follow-up to his last album Relapse, the project is not the only one he’s working on. Recovery is just one on a list of big projects the Detroit veteran is sharing with audiences. On Friday, Em revealed to BBC’s Radio 1 that he will finally be signing Hip Hop supergroup Slaughterhouse to Shady Records.
“We’re kinda trying to start the process of rebuilding our label, Shady Records,” Eminem said. “I’m sure I’ll be looking for younger talent coming up. There’s a new group we’re looking to sign, Slaughterhouse. But I don’t want to give anything away. We’re looking at a few [artists] now.”
The deal not only confirms speculations that arose after Joe Budden, Crooked I, Royce da 5’9″ and Joell Ortiz appeared with Em in Drake’s “Forever” music video, but it is also a move to rebuild Shady Records. The rapper said that along with the Slaughterhouse album, he may even go back to doing some production work.
“I think that record is going to be crazy and I think it’s going to be fun to make.” he told Tim Westwood. “And that’s where I might step back in and try to produce a little too.” The Slaughterhouse album has not yet been given a release date.
