Honestly i don't think none have. Not even Big Pun or Jam Master Jay(shameful). But other than Pun and Pimp C(even though wasn't a beast, he was instrumental in 3rd coast noteriety, which is huge) as well as JMJ, has there been a rapper with this much prominence to not get anything. He not only survived but strived during a time of ill lyricists, how can he not get an acknowledgement. I'm not asking for a Gang Starr marathon, it would be dope, to feature the whole Gang Starr family(Big Shug, Lil Dap, Group Home, Jeru da Damaja, and Freddie Foxx), but damn give the man credit for what he has done. His contributions are crazy.

again much respect to GURU for his contributions ot hip hop and music period. but again imo dude's music was boring. but what i dont get is the topic stated clearly what this article was about. i just dont understand clicking on this story just to state how much you dislike dude. im not saying you or anyone else should like wayne, if you dont, cool but what is the hatred about? its as if some of you go out of your way to express your dislike the man. tell me this...what does wayne have to do with fuse tv? dude is in prison. he had no input on them deciding to do this marathon and if you really feel so striongly about it why not comment on fuse tv.com? all im saying is even when a story has absolutely nothing to do with wayne somehow his name always comes up and dudes start hating. not liking him or his music is cool but just finding any reason to bring up dude's anem and be disrespectful is hate...thats just what it is..imo

GURU was monotone as hell, i'll give you that, no voice inflexion or anything, but dull, with Premo on the boards, ya buggin'. There is no emotion in my writings, its just Wayne is garbage, nothing feminine about that other than him kissin Baby in the mouth, i digress. I'm a man and i have an opinion. I just don't understand why is this news. Why does he need a damn marathon when on any given black radio station you will hear either him or his cronies at least 5x an hour. But Guru's passing is bigger than that. His contribution to hip hop other than being apart of Gang Starr is he introduced Jazz to an audience and demographic that wouldn't have bothered with Jazz. The Jazzmatazz series was critically acclaimed and ahead of its time. The fusion of hip hop/jazz is something that can't be overlooked. It wasn't a mash up ala Linkin Park/Jay-Z, it was an introduction of a genre that is rich in African American heritage, that like so much of our history, is being pushed to the side for this self-depricating pop culture that is fueled by money and not the art.

and joe,i don't have a problem cuz it's wayne.i have a problem because they couldn't even give a tribute to a pioneer.if they would've did a tribute and the lil wayne marathon and a tribute/marathon for gangstarr.there would be no problem.i got no problem with wayne.just with fuse and them celebrating some foul shit

I have a problem with all these garbage ass rappers. Its not just Wayne, i think i just detest him the most. but if it was a Luda-thon, Wu-tang-a-thon, M.O.P-a-thon, and or an anybody who can actually rap-a-thon i wouldn't have a problem. but when coonery is promoted to such a level as a marathon then i have a problem.
