Travis Barker Secures Lil Wayne, Game For Solo Album

Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, RZA, Game, and more to be featured on Travis Barker

Drummer and Blink 182 member Travis Barker has revealed to Spinner.com that he has secured a number of Hip Hop artists for his debut solo album.

When Blink 182 took a break from music several years ago, Barker began to work with a number of artists in the Hip Hop community and his penchant for Hip Hop will be quite clear when his album is released. Game, Beanie Sigel, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross are just a few of the artists who will be featured on Barker’s solo album.

"I'm not singing or being an emcee or anything," Barker told Spinner.com. "Over the last five years, when Blink wasn't around, I played a lot by myself or did a whole bunch of stuff with just me. Whether I was playing with T.I. or doing whatever, it just opened another world for me."

It is still unclear what Barker’s solo album will be titled or when it will be released.

"I'm rounding it out right now," said Barker. "I just love music. The more I can be around it the better, so with my album it's no one genre. It goes from everything from punk rock to Hip Hop to some electro stuff on there to a metal song with Corey Taylor from Slipknot. It's been really fun and interesting up till now."

i guess im a hater but i dont see why anyone cares about this guy. he was in a pop punk band for 15 year old girls. all his bands have sucked. now he drums over hip hop tracks and calls them remixes and people go wild. do you know how many drummers could do that? must be the cadillac tattoos

because hes talented and respected in the hip hop community dipshits

    • yup

cosign 100%. i got nothin against the dude but drumming (the same beat) over a beat is not much of a remix. the only music he has actually produced himself has been pop-punk for teenage girls. if it wasn't for a video for him to display said cadillac tattoos then you wouldn't even know he's on the track

Ive always had mad respect for barker since i was a teenager listening to blink, now im deep into hip hop for the last 5 years but still made it out to a blink concert last summer to re live the good times, he did a solo set which has some dope instrumentals with him drumming over them, not to metion he was on a drum set which was hoisted into the air and spun around like a turntable while he was doing it you can check that out on youtube, but this shit should be dope he knows how to lay down dope drum lines over many different types of beats

im just glad to see that travis came out of that plane crash without the same problems as AM (RIP).... he is so talented musically, its nuts.. wayne on guitar with barker on the drums?? could be nice.. regardless if you liked rebirth or not (i didnt) you gotta repect wayne pushing boundries with music and not staying in the box that most rappers put themselves in

long time ago i remember hearing travis barker working on a "GOT MONEY" remix with Slim Thugga feat.,that was right before the plane crash though

  • peter cottonmouth

how many drummers have released an album???????

    • pengu

only the ones covered in tattoos like tommy lee. people eat that shit up i guess because all they do is drum on some tracks and put their name on an album when everyone else did all the work.

I am looking forward to this one..... hip hop with someone on the drums sounds a lot better to me. They just got to keep the guitars out of the songs, that almost never turns out right. It's almost as corny as Michael Jackson humping slashes leg with 40 mile per hour winds going off..

looking forward to another Travis & Game track, Dope Boys was sick as fuck, be interesting to see what Wayne can do too

Representing for all the drummers in the world. Do your thing big dog! Travis is the shit, when he replaced the old drummer from Blink 182, it was noticeable how better the band became.

  • Drucifer1983

His remixes are usually pretty good, I'll listen to it

  • curbstompa

LOL has Wayne ever said "no"?? he'd do a song with my grandmother if the money was right

    • YoDawg

haha no doubt man. He would jump on a song with a ham sandwich if it tasted good enough. He has done songs with pretty much everyone. The Last person id ever see him jumping on a song with was eminem..shit happens ey

now that is just commical. I think maybe weezy might not agree to collaborate maybe with the Jonas brothers, that might cross the line? who knows. NE WAYS!!! wow, that is something else, usually it is lead singers that have the pizazz and triumph in band situations and here we have the eletrcictiy flying off the drumsticks. Travis Barker is ONE of a kind!

DESNG Bringing you the latest in hip hop http://desng.blogspot.com/ I feel like Travis Barker, if he goes into the world of hip hop might be a hit or miss. Don't get me wrong I'll give him a chance but I just hope he doesn't make a mistake by doing this. I think its a good idea that he is incorporating the Game and Lil Wayne. Barker helped the Game produce a good hit in Dope Boys. I really liked the background instrumentals that Barker provied. Hopefully it will be a good album.
