Anyone who is into battle raps and freestyle competitions has surely heard of Eyedea. He has won the famous HBO sponsored “Blaze Battle” freestyle competition in 2000, he has also scored victories over other freestyle phemons like Eminem and Juice. After his big victory at “Blaze Battle” Eyedea was courted by none other than Puffy to come to Bad Boy Records. Instead, Eyedea took his show to indy label, Rhymesayers Entertainment.

Last year, Eyedea released his debut album alongside DJ Abilities called “First Born.” Those who checked for it expecting some battling shit were really surprised as it was nothing like that. As Eyedea said, “I don’t make songs about battle raps, bitch, I do it.” Freestyles and writtens are two different things and Eyedea showed that. His album was full of personal and philosophical rhymes, a style that drew comparison’s to his rhyming hero and label mate, Slug.

Eyedea returns on July 22nd with his second album, released under the pseudonym, Oliver Heart. The album, which is called, “The Many Faces of Oliver Hart or How Eye One The Write To Think,” will features Slug and Carnage. Here is the tracklisting:
