You had to see it coming. Jaz-O took a 15 year old kid named Shawn Carter under his wing because he recognized his talent. He tutored him in the rap game and gave him some shine on his late 80’s hit “Hawaiian Sophie.” Jaz helped out Jay a little on his classic debut “Reasonable Doubt” by producing “Ain’t No Nigga” (which he jacked from EPMD of course). He later appeared on “Nigga What, Nigga Who” from Jay-Z’s third LP.
Since 1997 Jay-Z has done a lot of work and a lot of blowing up and Jaz has been no part of it. You had to see it coming. Jaz recently released “Kingz Kounty” and Jay-Z once again hooked up with Jaz for a track called “Let’s Go.” I guess things were all good. That is until Jay no-showed the video. This is how it goes down according to Jaz:
“When I called he said he was in a zone and to call him back. When I called him back he was like, ‘Jaz, I can’t do it.’ There are some die hard Jay-Z fans that look at me like I’m crazy and that’s because they don’t know the story. And most of these people are even too ignorant, like they will walk right past me but they are too ignorant to even ask me like, ‘What’s the truth? Are you really telling the truth?’ They don’t even want it to be the truth cause they don’t want their bubble will burst. They are like ‘damn this nigga our hero and he’s really a fraud.’ Not saying that he didn’t do any of the shit that he said he did, but as a person, the nigga is a fraud. A part of me is sad, man, because I mean I can’t front, me and that nigga have history.”
