Tuesday, a Manhattan judge ordered Lil Wayne to begin his one year jail sentence on February 9, 2010. The sentence stems from the Grammy winning emcee’s guilty plea to criminal possession of a weapon in October, after being arrested during a 2007 traffic stop of his tour bus. If the case had gone to trial, Wayne would have served anywhere from three and a half to seven years in prison.

Based on his plea deal, Wayne will serve no less than nine months in jail, assuming he is eligible to be released early for good behavior.

Lil Wayne also faces a separate set of charges for felony weapons and drug possession charges after a 2008 search of his Arizona tour bus yielded an arrest due to finding 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and a handgun.
