On Thursday evening, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys took center stage before the World Series match up between the New York Yankees and Philedlphia Phillies. The duo performed their hit “Empire State of Mind,” a track off Jigga’s latest effort Blueprint 3. Due to Major League Baseball’s regulations, the song’s clean version was performed.

“I think it’s special for all of New York,”Yankees captain Derek Jeter, who also uses the track as his at-bat music, said, according to MLB.com [click here].

“I think it almost seems like it’s the anthem for New York right now,” Jeter added. “I got an opportunity to get to know Jay-Z throughout the years and he’s very, very talented doing a lot of things. But he knows what he’s doing, so I think New York has kind of embraced that song.”
