Some more of the latest underground material to hit the streets, majority have full length albums releases so here we go with the report. D&D records are at it again, with the newest acquisition to the stable of artist, here’s Krumb Snatcher. The current single “Oxygen” featuring Boogie b/w “Strike Back” featuring Demorne Warren, demonstrates Krumb Snatcher’s, versatility and mic prowess. Oldominion is a group of artist via Under The Needle Records. Finally releasing the vinyl; “Parallel to Hell” b/w “Serenade to Silence” the current single has the potential to move into serious heavy college mix-show contention. Nonetheless give it to the b-side Serenade to Silence to get the one up.

Seth Marcel goes for the serious push, with his double sided joint. The single “Give It Here” b/w “Could It Be”, both are appealing and has an audience, definite mix-tape and mix-show appeal. The Quannum Projects artist Lifesavas, self titled double sided vinyl release; “Lifesavas” on the a-side and b-side “HelloHiHey” success bound. Both songs are well produced with tight flows. Nevertheless the a-side Lifesavas takes the winning nod with its radio ready mentality. www.quannum.com is the place to find more on Lifesavas.

Definitive Jux El-P, releases another banger of a single independently. This time around their double sided effort, offers three tracks one being the a-side “Lazerface Warning” with a remix, and the vinyl’s b-side “Squeegee Man Shooting”. Okay now it’s time for the full length albums, Camp-Lo sets out to redefine hi-hop music with their LP, Let’s Do It Again. Songs such as the titled track, “Glow”, “Gorilla Pimp” and “Carnival 4 Sha” are filled with jazzy funk support music and acrobatic rhymes. Akwid debuted with the album 2002 A.D. definitely has some bright spots to talk about. A true hip-hop compilation, submerged in the main ingredient of hip-hop production, very few commercial pick-ups; Starskee and Hutch, Foney and Third Person made the call for radio possible. Philly fellas, 40th Dimension debuts the full length CD, The Crop Report. An assortment of artists from Hip-Hop, R&B to spoken word and Reggae can be found on the Phem Phat Honey Drops CD. Distributed by Universal Music, Phem Phat made a statement with the all female compilation. The material on this CD is worthwhile to have, beginning with Londa Larmond’s soulful rendition of “Ascension” and Tara Chase featuring Roam on “Like It Like”, are a couple of bright lights here. www.phemphat.com has other information on the women doing their thing.
