Flavor Flav has been indicted on a felony charge of driving with a suspended license stemming from a 2014 arrest, according to Billboard. The Public Enemy rapper was arrested on January 9, 2014 on the Meadowbrook Parkway in New York and is now set to appear in a Long Island courtroom later this month.

The original charges were incurred while Flavor Flav was rushing to his mother’s funeral just over a year ago and include two misdemeanors for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in addition to a speeding violation.

A lawyer for the rapper declined to comment but is reportedly looking to reach a plea deal. A spokesperson for the District Attorney for Nassau County where Flavor Flav was arrested also declined to comment but confirmed his court date to be January 21.
