Diddy Clarifies Net Worth After Forbes' Cash Kings Article

Diddy says his success is defined by the number of people he's able to affect in a positive way.

Hip Hop entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs may have topped both Forbes’ Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists 2013 and Cash Kings 2013 lists, but according to the Bad Boy Records founder, it isn’t his wealth that solely defines his level of success.

During a sit-down conversation with Forbes, Diddy went on to state that it’s the impact he has in the lives of others that defines how successful he is. Diddy’s interview with Forbes comes shortly after he donated $250,000 to the Young Entrepreneur Network, an organization he feels he can “see the actual results of.”

“The way I define my success is how many people I’m able to affect their lives in a positive way…And from a kid coming from Harlem, if I can do it then hopefully that’ll inspire somebody else to do it,” said Diddy. “And another thing about being #1 on the list is that I openly accept the responsibility that comes with that. That economic power gives me the opportunity to give back. And so, because I was able to work hard and to earn that money, I’m able to take care of my family. I got six kids and that’s kind of expensive. And I was able to give away a quarter of a million dollars to an organization that I see the actual results of it building our future leaders, CEOs, and business owners.”

Diddy, whose net worth is said to be around $580 million, also clarified his standing on Forbes’ list by explaining to viewers that the money he’s worth isn’t the same as how much money he has in the bank. The Forbes list mainstay offered that clarification after being asked if he sees himself becoming Hip Hop’s first billionaire.

“I don’t know,” said Diddy, after being asked about securing the title of Hip Hop’s first billionaire. “I really can’t deny how humbling and how proud I am to be from Harlem, New York. Be from the inner-city and to be on the Forbes list. You know, I can’t deny that. But it doesn’t define me. If I become a billionaire or whatever the status is of what I’m worth. First of all, I do want to say to the Forbes cameras, I actually don’t—I want to tell you the truth. I don’t have that money in the bank. They’re saying that’s how much I’m worth. So, I don’t have that money in the bank. I want to make sure y’all are clear on that.”

On top of his involvement with Bad Boy Records, Diddy also has a deal with beverage company Diageo (owners of Ciroc, Crown Royal, Smirnoff, and other spirits). According to Forbes, on top or receiving a percentage of profits from Ciroc each year, the 43-year-old entrepreneur could receive millions if the brand is ever sold.

In addition to his deal with Diageo and Ciroc, Diddy is also heavily involved with Sean John clothing, The Blue Flame Agency, and Revolt television network.

Can't stand his music (although I'll admit No Way Out was pretty good through the ears of a 16 year old kid), but you have to respect the hustle in this dude.

NO WAY OUT REVIEW Intro - Dope but dramatic Victory - 5 MICS (Started the album off with a Classic) Been Around The World - 5 MICS (Big, Ma$e and Diddy on another Classic song) What You Gonna Do 4 MICS (A dope storytelling song, sounded like something Biggie or Black Rob would spit a story over) Don't You Stop What You Doing - 3.5 MICS (Decent record, Lil Kim and Faith come through but it's only OK) If I should die Tonight (Interlude) - Carl Thomas made the track Do You Know - 4 MICS (Beat was fire, Puffy came through too. Kelly Price voice is so underrated and amazing) Young G's - 5 MICS (Big, Jay and Puff with Kelly killing the hook with a hard beat) I Love You Baby - 5 MICS (Black Rob and Puff drop an amazing storytelling) All About The Benji's -5 MICS (Is there any debate that this isn't one of the greatest rap songs of all time? Classic) Pain - 5 MICS (Deep song) Is This The End - 5 MICS (This joint has a little timbaland style with the double time beat but it's dope and Twist Diddy and Ginuwine kill it) I Got The Power - 4 MICS (Lox drove the track, beat was cool too) Friend - 3.5 MICS (One of the weaker joints on the album. Foxy was OK but the song is only alright. Beat was straight) Senorita - 4 MICS (This was a guilty pleasure of mines. I would of liked it better if Ma$e had a verse over this) I'll Be Missing You - 5 MICS (One of Hip Hop Biggest songs ever and Eulogized one of the greatest rappers ever) Can't Nobody Hold Me Down - 5 MICS (Classic Beat that was flipped for modern audiences but Ma$e and Puff Killed it) MIC AVERAGE: 4.53 Yes the album is Classic and it's not Low Key. The purist hated Puff but the reality was he was dropping Classic and Quality songs and music. It's funny that "No Way Out" stands up with a lot of albums released today. Sure there was a lot of hit songs on it that blew the album up. But the album is very solid. The guest features enhance the album. There's honestly only a few weak joints, the rest is fire. But it's now a Low Key Classic. The album sold Over Diamond worldwide. The singles sold over Diamond worldwide. He had 2 #1 (Missing You, Can't Nobody) hits, 2 #2 Hits (Benji's and Been around the world) and a Top 20 hit (Victory). That's 5 hit singles. Puffy could of very well had 4 #1 hits on this album if "Missing You" and "Life After Death" was smashing sh!t. Now the biggest rock you can throw at the album was Puffy's performance. Yes he had some really good ghostwriters. But sometimes his flow was a little off. You could tell he was basically still learning how to rap. But the production, guest features and quality songs make up for that. "No Way Out" is a Legendary album in Hip Hop for it's success and for better or worst making the CEO/Rapper trend. It's been 16 years and Puffy hasn't made anything near as Classic as this album.

GTFOH with that bullsh1t, you are tongue in cheek with that aren't you ??? Am i falling for it hook, line and sinker ??? That album is straight garbage, Puff cant spit for sh1t even with his ghost written verses, sampling some god awful 80's tracks, stealing others beats (DITCs Day One) RNB hooks for the masses, 0.1 out of 5 and only cos Victory has a good beat and Big spitting so so on it....I mean you give this 4.53 out of 5, what about Illmatic, 36 Chambers, Nation Of Millions, Doggystyle, Da Chronic, MMLP, Dah Shinin', Muddy Waters, OBCL etc etc, you tellin me this album is nearly on a par with them ???? FOH you lame...
