Mac Miller Responds To Donald Trump's Lawsuit Threats

Mac Miller takes to Twitter to address Donald Trump's series of messages threatening to sue him.

Mac Miller has responded to Donald Trump's legal threats against him for using his name for the gold-certified track "Donald Trump."

Yesterday, the business mogul took to Twitter to go against previous statements praising the rapper for naming the song after him. Trump threatened him with legal action and is yet to follow up on his tweets.

Now, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emcee has broken his silence on the matter, taking to the social networking site to address the messages. "[I]'m not trying to put any negative energy into the world. @realdonaldtrump let's be friends," he wrote.

Miller, who released his debut album Blue Slide Park in late 2011, recently settled a $10 million lawsuit with Lord Finesse over copyright infringement.

Let me get this straight, Mac Miller writes a love song praising Donald Trump and then Trump threatens to sue his ass. But then Miller apologize like a little bitch?!?! lol! Are you serious? All of the greats, Tupac, Public Enemy, KRS-One did their research on how rich guys like Trump hurt hip-hop. Why praise him in the first place? All it takes is 5 seconds to Wikipedia ANYTHING. Please do your research next time, because skills without smarts can only get you so far.

"i'm not making money off my illegally downloaded songs" But the music industry loses millions every year because of illegal downloading. You aren't asking the labels if it's ok if you download their album for free, and don't kid yourself. Most people file share, and burn copies for their friends which is at the expense of someone else.

How? Not everyone who pirates would buy anyways. Not everyone who gets a copy from a friend would buy. A small fraction of people who would buy pirate because they enjoy stealing. Most people who pirate enjoy being able to purchase later, when they can either afford to or get the chance to.

Trump can't sue Mac Miller, but Mac has a chance to trump Trump and blow this up into a bigger deal and he responds with "Let's be friends?" Trump is a sucka, easily controlled by his emotions. Trump didn't pay any attention to Freeway Ricky Ross losing in court to having his name & image stolen by that not so teflon don Rozay.

if rosa parks can sue outkast and get paid i don't see why trump cant sue mac miller freeway only lost because he was a drug dealer so they are biased against him

u cant to war with trump this was the best response

"he used a beat and then sold it without permission" You illegally download hundreds of albums and songs then share the files with your friends. Did you ask permission from the record labels first?

The one time you actually have a good retort

i'm not making money off my illegally downloaded songs and i certainly don't share that shit with my friends, they cant download that shit on their own. if i was using those songs to DJ at clubs i could maybe see your point.
  • The Truth
hhdx's reporting on this is kinda fucked. on complex they show that mac miller was the first to start doggin trump. not sayin he was wrong in what he said, and i'm not sayin trump isn't an idiot, but trump is reacting to things mac miller said, not the other way around.

this is fukin ridiculous in that case every rapper in the game is about to catch a lawsuit...game name drops at least three ppl in every song...eminem has made a career outta dissin people on wax...i mean the list goes on and on

I don't really like mac miller, but i respect what he's doing. Donald Trump is a true piece of shit
    • OH WORD?
In the interview, Mac Miller and Ecko voiced their displeasure for Donald Trump. I think hes a dick, Mac said in the Complex video. When he started running for president I was like, Oh, fuck this is horrible, I have a fucking song with this dudes name and now hes being such a douchebag, Mac added in the video Macs choice words for Trump were apparently surprising to Donald Trump, after he created a video co-signing the song and saying that Mac was next Eminem. "The thing that bothers me the most is that he always says things like, '75 million views on the song Donald Trump, Mac Miller you're welcome'", Mac Miller said in the interview. "I could've said, Take over the world when I'm on my Bill Gates shit. It doesn't matter. That shitt just pisses me off."

All he did was just use a beat and name a song after someone famous such bullshit. if he makes it past all this i gotta to give him some credit

he used a beat and then sold it without permission and then he went and talked mad shit about the guy he named a song after, who just happens to be a ruthless billionaire boo hoo poor mac miller
  • getem
wow.. he a punk for that.. i thought he was ok.. but now he's D.Trumps scary little biiiisssshhhhh... lol
  • JRich
There's gotta be a statute of limitations or something on this doesn't there? I know the song's not that old, but you can't praise someone and accept a plaque from them and then sue them for the same thing like a year later. Maybe you can, idk, it may be legally acceptable but it's still fucked.

read the comment below! mac miller talk mad shit about trump and donald aint having that! if mac kept his mouth shut there would be no lawsuit

Right, an 11 word tweet gets an article.
  • Why Donald Trump was really mad, the true story
The real story, not the biased HHDX version: The threats come shortly after a news clip of Mac Miller and Complex Magazine owner Mark Ecko aired, naming Mac Miller Complexs Man of the Year. In the interview, Mac Miller and Ecko voiced their displeasure for Donald Trump. I think hes a d**k, Mac said in the Complex video. I f**king hate Donald Trump, Mark Ecko added. When he started running for president I was like, Oh, f**kthis is horrible, I have a fu**ing song with this dudes name and now hes being such a douchebag, Mac added in the video Macs choice words for Trump were apparently surprising to Donald Trump, after he created a video co-signing the song and saying that Mac was next Eminem. The thing that bothers me the most is that he always says things like, 75 million views on the song Donald Trump, Mac Miller youre welcome, Mac Miller said in the interview. I couldve said, Take over the world when Im on my Bill Gates s**t. It doesnt matter. That s**t just pisses me off. http://allhiphop.com/2013/02/01/donaldtrumpvsmacmiller/

Otherwise read as, "I have no money, please don't sue me."
  • donnis mac
This is what I mean when I say you have to look at Company (Rostrum Records). Instead of Company putting a gag order on Mac until they find out what Donald wants (or even if it was a hack and not him) and have their lawyers or executives respond, Mac is on Twitter talking about "let's be friends". There are no friends in business, just associates.
